Although the news coverage of the events in Japan have dwindled slightly over the past few days. The far reaching effects and devastation continue to grow. Specifically in the inability to stop radiation leaks.
Check out the article to keep yourself current on the world changing effects in Japan. Similar to our studying of 9/11 this event may alter the course of world history drastically.
Suggest some predictions of how this event may change the world? or argue that it indeed will not.
perhaps being fully informed will make it more meaningful and important to donate a few dollars to support relief efforts.
http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/963330--japan-on-maximum-alert-as-nuclear-crisis-deepens?bn=1
I am certain that this situation will not be like the Chernobyl Meltdown.I think that the end of this will just be a very dangerous and unstable reactor that will have to be invested time upon to cool down.I think that the farms and environmental systems will all become contaminated, and then they'll have to make the entire land around the plant become barren and uninhabited as safety precautions. They might have to cut off water supplies and get more help from the United Nations.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they might have to fence off that area and a lot of people will end up with health problems, not just by the radiation but the plutonium. It mentioned that plutonium breaks down slowly so it is going to take along time for all of it to go away followed by if you breath it in it stays in your body for ever.
ReplyDeleteThere was a part where it mentioned that they have found water that have been contaminated in basements of other buildings.
What happens is,is that the energy from the uranium or plutonium is used to generate energy through fission. All this power builds up,and water cools it down. There's electricity powering the water, and that water does some type of vapour-electricity power and creates energy. When the power was knocked out by the earth quake, the reactor containing this uranium that was in the middle of making energy had it's back up power knocked out too.The power continued to grow and grow in a unstable fashion. The energy is so dangerous that it can explode and contaminate everything in the perimeter. It's why everyone is trying so hard to cool it down.
ReplyDeleteWhile they're cooling it down, its contaminants are leaking into the soil, and by the help of gravity going to the soil into underground reservoirs, and then going into lakes and streams. After that, locals would consume it and be at risk of illness or death.
Who is Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon?
ReplyDeleteWoww, already recovered 11000 thats pretty good, much more than i expected, although it still hurts to hear that 18000 people are missing, i hope that the 11000 will keep increasing, and that the 18000 will decrease
ReplyDeleteI think this event will change the world because so many people were affected and it really shows people how much damage can happen from a natural disaster. It will also change the world because now everyone wants nuclear power plants to be closed and I think that there will be big debates in the future about whether that should happen or not.
ReplyDelete@Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon
ReplyDeleteThe two are different because this meltdown was caused by a tsunami so I agree I to don't think they are similar. The implications this might have in the future is that they will have to tsunami test buildings of importance but I don't think anything could have withstood the power of the surging waves caused by the tsunami.
@Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon , who are you ?
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that comes to my mind is how long it will take for Japan to be radiation free. Radiation has many effects on the human body, such as hair loss, seizures and immediate death. Since the radiation has made its way into their food, its almost impossible to live.
ReplyDelete@Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon , who are you ?
ReplyDeleteGetting rid of raditation takes very long and also take money because raditation causes problems to your body, and also diseases after a few days or months. Your body faces a drastic over flow of cemicals and diseases. Your white blood cells become weak and start to die out because the raditation is too strong for your body to stop it. Plus the cost of getting Japan raditation free will cost alot just for one nuclear plan to solve. And also the cost and time of repairing Japan will also take money.
ReplyDelete@Adam I think the 18000 is not the missing but the death toll. They also said that it's likely to exceed that which is quite tragic.
ReplyDeleteIf they were to close off all nearby lakes and then deport all the residents even near Tokyo to another place, like in a highland area, they could start on finishing cooling the reactor. But,to have all those people moved to another place, then start working on cooling it down,it might be too troublesome.Families may be separated and people need medical help.
ReplyDeleteI think that they're just going to have to let the soil become contaminated, and they'll have to rely only on what they're given from other countries.
The people living there will have to move to another place and most likely have to wait hundred of years or so, since the plutonium was released the entire area will be stuck having loads of radiations for a long time.
ReplyDelete@pamela I agree just like in Hiroshima the aftereffects are going to be catastrophic, nuclear birth defects, unfertile soil. The areas effected are going to probably have a whole lot of nuclear contamination.
ReplyDeleteWow, just thinking about the radiation in japan giving me the shivers, how do they live, none of us help and were just sitting hear, we should make a change and help Japan .. one question can radiation go away ?
ReplyDeleteThis event will change the world because japan is a country the imports different items all around the world and with what that has happened it going to effect everyone by cuttign there imports by alot if japan is a big importer to then.
ReplyDeleteafter the earthquake and tsunami, there was a whirlpool incident around japan and people on boats were sucked in
ReplyDeletethe link is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhporhNsWWI
I believe that this event will change history beacause this event has murdered and effected many more than those in the event of 911, that was 2 buliding this is the whole country.
ReplyDeleteEven though both these event are one of the worst history has noted but this event has changed lives of many and many more in our world, How? many are injured, murdered, many lost their loved ones and a lot more that have breathed the radiation and have been effected, destroyed homes orphaned children, hunger, diseases and illnesses are all part of this disaster that has happened in Japan.
@ elpresidente that is a possibility for them to have tsunami test buildings just like they have for ones to test lightning or plane crashes, but it will still result in massive damage. It would be quite difficult to design a building like that.
ReplyDeleteThis situation is very sad but most of the air they're breathing is toxic. I think this event will change the world because Japan is a large exporting country and I heard on the new the other day that how since the Japan crisis it will effect Canada's imports from Japan like cars and electronics.
ReplyDelete@ Sharpshooter1948 but why would they have to fence off the area if these chemicals are in the air that they're breathing and also they could fence off areas that are dangerous for people that are wondering all over the place, because that could bring them closer to danger and your right give them major health problems.
I think because of all the events that haf happened in Japan, it will change the world because Japan is one of the countys thats imports alot with Canada and other counteries. And the the radition leaks stop, then it would take them time to recover and get back. Also it stll doesnt want much help from other countireis like lawmaker Yosuke Isozaki said in the parlimeant "We cannot let you handle the crisis,We cannot let you be in charge of Japan’s crisis management.”
ReplyDeleteI also think this will change the world because Japan is a big country for exporting goods but if those are not being made becuse of the disaster, there will be a shortage. So that will change the world as well.
ReplyDelete@Master Chief,Pamela,Nida:If the Intergalactic Leader of the Armada isn't here, then who is?
ReplyDelete@El Presidente Japan seems to be familiar with Earth Quakes.I think that the buildings have been built to withstand Earth Quakes as they have in other places in the world.Because the Earth Quake was on the coast,I don't think they were prepared because at the Coast of Japan they might not have stable homes due to the land itself. It would be much more damp, unlike somewhere near the centre of Japan, where it might be much more dense, and dry.
@ talwinder radiation can go away but it takes along time decades maybe or a centuries i'm not sure
ReplyDeleteJust consider how small Japan is geographically. Where are all the homeless going to go, to a very crowed country.
ReplyDeleteas much as we can wish that the 18000 will decrease it seems unlikely.
The radiation is spreading as far as Tokyo
thats similar to it spreading to Toronto.
The Japan devastation hasn't got much attention , if you notice .. the Haiti earthquake got more attention and help. I think it is important to give Japan much attention because not only was it the strongest earthquake in Japan , but after that there was a tsunami. A big problem right now is getting rid of the radiation because not only is it bad for your body , but it also takes a lot of time and money to get rid of it. I think this event will end up changing the world because everyone would need to work together to get Japan back to the way it was.
ReplyDelete@ Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon
ReplyDeleteI think that japan will need some help from the united nations, but not as much as we all think. Japan knows what they are doing. when Hiroshima happened, the same thing happened like al there food and water got contaminated, but over time they recovered from that. This is one of those time, and with the technology we have now, compared to back then, they will definitely recover over time.
Another thing is that those nuclear explosions, were not as big compared to Hiroshima, so yes they may struggle a little, but they know how to recover.
@Talwinder, i agree we should make a change and help Japan, the school has already asked for donations, but maybe we should all do something more.
ReplyDeleteAlso Japan is the third most important exporter for Canada. So with Japan trying to recover, Canada and other countries will lose some econemy with Japan. Also in New York... (The Big Apple) will also be losing profit from Japan. Right now Japan needs help in trying to recover and also the raditation problem.
ReplyDelete@Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon i agree with you it so many people have to move because of this incident their government should at least give them some money so they can survive i mean how are they going to find a new house and get the things they need to survive.
ReplyDeleteyeah same things comes in my mind like how long is it going to take the Japans people to be free from this radiation because it is like over a week now but when i was watching the news on the T.V yesterday they said that they got all the things in control and that now there is nothing to be woried about.
ReplyDeleteWill countries reevaluate the use of nuclear power?
ReplyDelete@ Amrit why would you say murdered?? basicly you just should of said killed because murderd is more like someone killed them thats why I say murdered is not really the right term to use it's more like killed, but yeah you could be right.
ReplyDelete@Talwinder the radiation goes away instantly The damage done by the radiation may or may not go away in time. The most dangerous thing people worry about with radiation is cancer.
ReplyDelete@Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon , someone we don't know the name of.
ReplyDeleteAnother way it going to effect the world is its going to cost a lot of money to re-build japan to its former self.Millions and billions or dollars are going to be needed to re-build japan and they stil need to get the radation under control.
ReplyDeleteThe final death toll is 18,000 but they have recovered 11,000 bodies which is pretty good but yet its stil bad.The Prime ministersaid that this was japans biggest problem since world war II.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletemany of the consequences will take years to reveal itself.
ReplyDelete@ Talwinder
ReplyDeleteYes that is a very good question. I am assuming radiation can go away but it takes a lot of time and work. I am pretty sure that it wont go away in the mean time.
@Mr Cheney Japan is a small country and there are already a lot of people who live there but now there are so many who are homeless that would be very crowded because there is less space. Also, when the tsunami hit, I heard officials saying that the water might not go away but will just stay there. This will decrease the land size as well.
ReplyDeletethis is going to cause more trouble for the world then japan;becuase the world feels bad for what happen and they are trying help but they can't change. And the reaction is also destorying the soil and the air. the world feels bad but can't do anyhting.expect give donation but that is goign to help them after they first solve the porblem of the reaction.
ReplyDelete@Taliwnder, i dont know if the radiation will stop,..but i hope it does becasue it caused a lot of damage. But the ppl in Japan are trying and just last week they got some parts of the plantt to work
ReplyDelete@Talwinder Radiation would be like movements of particles.Radiation would disrupt the chemical bonds and etc. and then cause diseases like leukaemia.
ReplyDeleteIf the reactor were to melt down, everyone near the plant would die instantly from the explosion. The people around might be contaminated.
So,Radiation will stay in the soil and destroy possible plant life. The harmful matter would slowly go away, but it doesn't mean that if would go away for ever.Think about Hiroshima, the land is still scarred;even after all these years.
Also, serious radiation (if you've been consuming a large amount of contaminated matter) would be mortally harmful. If it actually got into your system, your body would break down and you'd die.
@ venessa what I meanis that they fence off the area that has loads of radiation and plutonium is poisoning. It also emits radiation and it doesn't go in the air it stays like radiation just in the area.
ReplyDeleterecovered bodies are not rescued bodies.
ReplyDeleteYeah i was talking about the people too.....
ReplyDelete@Mrcheney Probably not its a risk and reward kind of thing to have that power and be able to use it to some is worth the risk. But I think it's use will be lowered.
ReplyDelete@ Vanessa
ReplyDeleteMurdered because they were killed by natural disasters but they didnt die on their own so they were murdered.
@ hitakchee there is something to be worried about just because they say it is all under control doesnt mean it all ok,there could be people hurt,we all should be worried people could be dying right now from this radiation problem, and just because you hear on the news that everything is gonna be ok doesnt mean we should stop worrying about them.It doesnt matter we should still be worried for them.
ReplyDeletebut usman don't you think that the goverment is trying to do their best because are they going to just give the money to the people and do nothing to the damage that happened they also have to have enough money to the give and recover the damage.
ReplyDelete@Heli think it worser for then then for us because we are here safe but they are there breathing toxic and trying to stop the radtation leaks and mab have lost their homes, their famileis and their how towns....but i agree we cant do more then doante because they dont want much help from anyother counteries
ReplyDelete@Mr Cheney I think countries are reevaluating the use of nuclear power. But I noticed that propane explosions happen a lot and can be really devastating but no one reevaluates the use of them. Now, after only 1 nuclear explosion, everyones saying don't use nuclear power. I know that this is a big disaster but it's just something I've ovbserved.
ReplyDelete@Vanessa I don't think the news say that everything is going to be okay the damage is extensive.
ReplyDeleteAnd i think the Japanese people are unlucky but i think there nuclear disaster was as bad as the Chernobyl disaster which was classified as a Level 7 event http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster
ReplyDeleteBut I really feel bad for the Japanese because first Hiroshima then the tsunami, nuclear leak and earthquake and the 3 at the same time and its going to take a while for the radiation to clear because i think no one is still aloud near the Chernobyl nuclear plant and i just found out that Japan's radiation leak was a level 4 event which is an accident with local consequence's from this website http://www.ask.com/wiki/International_Nuclear_Event_Scale
@ elpresidente it may be used less but people in this world are greedy, they might not care about it as much.
ReplyDelete@Pamelaa , do you think a lot of Japan's population isn't going to survive or no one at all ?
ReplyDelete@Mr.cheney
ReplyDeleteThats true. Just because they have recovered bodies doesn't mean they are rescued bodies. The bodies they have found are not living bodies. They were under a lot of heavy things (materials from houses).
@Mr.Cheney i think with what that has happened to japan with all the nuclear power countires are going to change the way they use nuclear power so if something like this were to happen to then it would not result in the nuclear radition spreading like in japan. But even as it spreading the japinise trying to do there very best to keep it under control.
ReplyDelete@ Amrit....you still use killed!!you dont turn on the T.V and hear that they say 18,000 people in Japan were murderd, they say KILLED!!!
ReplyDeletehow the tsunami hit japan looked slow in a camera on a helicopter but when your down on the ground... you,re gone. your just gone, dead, washed away by the debris of houses, buildings, cars and other stuff
ReplyDelete@arvindersabharwal , ia gree with vanessa, even though many were killed thought the tsaumi, radition leaks and earthquakes, it wasnt done by a person , so it isnt really an murdur
ReplyDelete@ hitakshee
ReplyDeletei agree with you but shouldn't they at least have a place to live or somthing.
If not Nuclear power then what?
ReplyDeletemurder is a strong word, who is responsible then?
@Mr Cheney I don't think the world will re-evaluate nuclear power. There might be many groups and charities established to prevent nuclear power from being used, but it would only change the views of a few Countries.Maybe U.S.A. and Canada will make a speech against nuclear power by shutting down or making their Nuclear Power Plants safer, but it won't change for other countries prepared to fight a war.
ReplyDeleteIt's like we have to worry more about the world leaders themselves. If the majority are going to take a stand against things like unsafe power plants, then the rest of the countries will change themselves to not look suspicious.
@Heli the world will be affected but i think Japan will be affected most. There is so much damage there that it will take years to fix and recover.
ReplyDeleteBut @ Pamela some could be live bodies under some light thiongs but probably they couldnt dig themselves out because they probably broke a leg,arm..etc.
ReplyDeleteI dont think that te radiation will all be stoped cause how are they going to get rid of it all and plus they probably need billions of dallars to fix all of this is a huge negative impact on Japans economy
ReplyDelete@Vanessa yeah I agree they were not murdered they were just killed and it's very unfourtunate.
ReplyDelete@ amrit why murdered, murdered is mroe like ruthlessly by someone else that's why they call people murders.
ReplyDeleteNo one is responsible It was a natural occurrence, every thing happens for a reason and not all the time do we know the reason. I have a question how was nuclear power discovered, because maybe there can be a new type of power source and natural in itself as well.
ReplyDeleteyeah Vanessa but i was not talking about the causes that happened to the people i was talking about the necular thing everyone knows that there are thins we have to worry about.
ReplyDeleteand if you try to jump off a boat when being sucked into a whirlpool... don't bother trying to escape. your body will be dragged back to the eye and sucked down with the boat
ReplyDelete@Mr Cheney The people who had built the back up power system are the ones to blame. If they had made a much more stable back up power from the beginning, and considered the chance of Earth Quake (IF they haven't already)it wouldn't happen.
ReplyDeleteNow that we know to create much more reliable Nuclear Power Plants,it will just make us stronger. Now that the world has learned something, they can advance as the sacks of water and meat that they are and continue destroying the environment.
EXACTLY!!!@ Mr.Cheney you are right if it's murdered who is really responsible....Amrit think about that??!!
ReplyDeletethis is worst then Haiti cause in Haiti there wasnt no tsunami or nuclear disaster but then again there were many after shocks and they arent rich as japan.
ReplyDelete@ zak the only way there would be a new power source found is if they commit to it. That mostly happens when there is war since everyone wants to have the best things and equipments.
ReplyDelete@Vanessa they may have been alive and stuck but this happened on the 11th and now it's the 29th. I don't think many more will be found alive.
ReplyDelete@ gurinder
ReplyDeletethere already are people that are people who are against nuclear power but they are being ignored the government is actually planning to put more nuclear power plants i can't remember but one country decide to band nuclear power
@ Aylssa that is true you cant say murdered, but yes it is sad that this cause so many to die.
ReplyDeleteMr Cheney, i think maybe it was an accident by some ppl that caused it and by now wouldnt they be dead ..?but thats still a guess and ppl in Japan are still trying to find out what caused it but was the earthquake because of the radition leaks or was that naturel??
ReplyDelete@El Zak , I agree .. no one can be responsible for the Japan devastation , it happened by nature.
ReplyDeleteJust because they have found a lot of people, not necessarily living, doesnt mean they are gonna find all the bodies that have been killed, so no ones going to know the exact number of people who have died.
ReplyDeleteA murder doesnt have to be done by a person it can be done with a natural disaster as long as the person hasn't died on their own.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be as bad as world war II but still many are affected and the death toll is rising and it will be harder to shelter and feed the millions who were left homeless
ReplyDelete@ Nida
ReplyDeletedo you think a lot of Japan's population isn't going to survive or no one at all ?
I honestly am not sure, so yes and no. Yes because it seems like they are handling it well. They have many shelters to keep the people in and have some food for them. So no because there are a lot of fatalities and radiation is the most biggest one. Radiation is dangerous and causes a lot of deaths. Not to mention all of the dead bodies they have recovered.
@ Mr.Cheney I hope so. Nuclear does more bad then good. Look, it almost destroyed a country TWICE, it contaminates our water, its a big problem if it leaks, it is destroying our planet. We have many other ways to get energy, so why dont we use them more? Just think of how much our planet would benefit if we reduced the amount of nuclear power.yes maybe our energy bills will go up,, but dont you think it is worth it ??
ReplyDelete@heli i agree because of the radation all the soil water and air has been infected and even by donating it going to need alot more but right now there biggest probelm is to slow down the radation so they can proceed with other stuff that need to be done.
ReplyDeleteThe Chernobyl explosion over time was described as a level 7 and in all likely hood the Japan meltdown will be considered the same.
ReplyDeleteIn the days just following Chernobyl the world didn't even know about it, the Soviet Union kept it a secret.
at least the power plant didn't explode or if it is going to.
ReplyDeleteEither classified as a murder or not the disaster is devastating and we got get past whether it was a murder or not and try and put our energies into helping the people of Japan.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Zak everything happens for a reason and you cant blame anyone for it because the nuclear plant dudes tried there best to protect the nuclear radiation stuff and im thinking now that were all gonna die in the year 2012 so guys get ready to be hit by awful natural disasters good day to you all
ReplyDelete@ Nida
ReplyDeleteHow long do you think it will be till Japan is recovered. Not like perfect as how it was before, but better than how it is now.
@Stephanie It's not just donation and more,it's that Japan needs our full support. It's like the world has to adopt all the people in Japan affected by earth quake, and give them all the vital items they need in order to survive.Donation might let them live a little longer, but if they can't get fresh water, they're trapped.
ReplyDeleteThis situation kind of relates to the 9/11 attack , because many bodies weren't found in that attack because they were incinerated , just like those bodies , the people in Japan could have been incinerated or worse.
ReplyDeleteAs well Nuclear reactors were constructed differently after the Chernobyl meltdown. Many of the safety regulations and containment units didn't exist till after the Chernobyl explosion.
ReplyDeletealas those extra safely measures were still not enough
@ janat
ReplyDeletewhat i meant yes, they are having the most troubles but we are feeling bad that have to go though what we here wouldn't have to. trying to stop the radtation and stop breathing is somthing we never have to do.
I Feel Really Bad For The People In Japan , They Lost Pretty Much Everything. Its Bad Enough They Had A Earthquake And Tsunami, But The Radiation Probably Made This Tragity At Its Worst ! , Japan Is Gunnuh Take Months, YEARS Maybe To Recover From This ! And This Is Gunnuh Change The World , Because First Of All, Japan Is One Of The Worlds Biggest Exporters And With It In This Kind Of Danger What Will The Rest Of The World Have To Say Bout This ?
ReplyDelete@ beng we could do that but money would have to be factored in since it would cost billions to use the other methods that don't have problems for the planet
ReplyDeleteworld war two was created by man this is created by nature maybe it is for our own good my nature wants to teach us something?
ReplyDeleteAmrit do you ever watch news?? if you listen with natural disaters like this they always say killed not murdered unless someone has been killed by someone!!
ReplyDeletebut EL Presidente for some of the natural occurence humans are responsible for it because of the global warming yeah some things humans are not responsible for but most of the things they are for because of the global warming. that is why now we are trying to reduce the amount of global warming we cause.
ReplyDeleteAmmrit, i disagrre, how can an naturel diater that did ccause alot of damge , but still murdur, is something thats planned and something ppl dont have to dobut still happens.but you cant really descrice the situation as an murdur
ReplyDelete@AMRIT I agree because they already need billions of dollars for the earthquake only, add the tsunami and the radioactive explosins and it is too much money.
ReplyDelete@BaileeT I agree this doestnt mean all the bodies are toobe found some of them are probably burnt or taken by the tausanmi
ReplyDeleteamirt i don't get what you mean no person killed any of them it was a natural disaster it is not considerd a murder
ReplyDelete@Janat I think the earthquake was natural because the radiation and tsunami happened after the quake. And I don't know any other way for a quajke to be made which is why I said natural.
ReplyDelete@Heli
ReplyDeleteoh OK and yea its really bad for Japan and i think they really should just take help from other countries
@Alyssa,
oh same, i don't think there is any other way either, but i wonder when the radiation leaks will stop and everything gets a bit better, just hopes it soon because they contaminated water and all
@EL Zak I agree it does not really mean anything if it was classifiyed as a murder or a disaster because it already happened and theres nothing we could have did to stop it from comming. All we can do right now is donate money so we can help.
ReplyDelete@MR.CHENEY I do not think that they will use nuclear power because one day I was coming home after school and my aunt was listening to the radio and it said some people wanted to build a necular power plant in Ottawa but the boss said they are not going to build the plant until they have fixed the radoiactive problems in Japan.
ReplyDelete@Janat i agree it was not planned like a murded would be planned and the situation does not fit what happened to japan but all i can say is its already happened and it affected japan and will effect the rest of the world to.
ReplyDelete@ jan101
ReplyDeleteit is very unlikely the radiation leaks stop fast even if they cool down the reactor the water is already contaminated so it could take a couple years to fully stop the crisis.
@Abdullahi i herd something like that on the raido and i agree they should not build the nuclear plant till they solve the japan problem so when there building there nuclear plant they know what to do so if something were to happen to Ottawa like what happened to japan they could aviod a repet from happening.
ReplyDelete@Usman i agree it going to take a long time to fully stop it and it going to scar japan. Its going to be remembered for a long time and will probally become part of history because even if it happened a few months ago there still talking about on the news as a big problem.
ReplyDelete@Usman I agree with you because it was not planned it just happened, there might be a behind it but none of us know the reason exactly and it is not considered a murder because if it were, a person would have murdered another person, sometimes for a reason and other times not.
ReplyDelete@Usman once again I agree with your statement.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa i agree it was natural and nothing can cause something that big.Its was made by mother nature. But the thing is is that the earthquake happened then the tsunami happened so it was worst then it woudl have been with only the earthquake. They say that the tsunami was really bad and was hitting prats of hawiee and british columbia
ReplyDelete@Stephane that is true because us being humans we learn from our mistakes, we get it wrong once we try to get it right the next time.
ReplyDelete@Stephane I also heard that on the radio it said that the tsunami hit Hawiee(Stephane I think we speeled Hawiee wrong).
ReplyDelete@ Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitoyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon
ReplyDeleteI agree with out fresh clean water they are traped donation will help but they wont have much an impact.Alot of people can become orphans and there going to need a place to live.Japan was a country with a high population and most of the houses were distroided so there going to need a place to live.By donating we are helping with the problem.
I do not know if other countries are going to let Japanise people into their country without a passport because I heard on the radio that it has become a big issue, people trying to sneak into other countries without a passport.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi yes its true like on our math quizzes we get a question wrong and next time we try to figure out what we did wrong and fix our mistakes. If there were no mistakes then our world would be perfect which is only in the movies.
ReplyDelete@Stephane that is true and my example is the Tammy ratio, we got it wrong the first time and we try to fix it. No human or anything else that may be alive is perfect, we all make mistakes and I mean all of us.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi that what i hred parts of bristish columbia and hawaii but it didnt affect then like how it affected japan.
ReplyDelete(Lol yes we did its spelled hawaii*)
@Stephanie I agree even with the donations from other countries, it's still going to take a lot of time and money to clean up and get under control.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi yes EVERYONE makes mistakes our world is not perfect and the tammy question was a perfect example.Everyone should get a second chance but if you do the same thing again then you wasted your chance like in the book cheat they were given a second chance to not cheat again.Because since it was there first time the principal didnt give then a really bad punishment but if they cheat again then the puinshment going to be worst.
ReplyDelete@Stephane that is a good thing with all this going on now, the Arab nation thing, the Japan thing and many more.
ReplyDeleteOK now I can spell it right, thanks ha ha ha.
@Stephane that is true.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa yes it going to take billions of dollars of donation to help japan and it would not be as bad if it was only an earthquake but it was an earthquake a tsunime and there nuclear plant where the radation is spreading.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa you are right, the Japan earthquake is one of the biggest ever.
ReplyDelete@ steph
ReplyDeleteyou are right it will take billions i think on the website it said 310 billion dollars.
@Stephane it is very dangerous.
ReplyDelete@Usman it did? What was the website.
ReplyDelete@Stephanie yeah I think I saw in the article that there was like $113 BILLION dollars in damage. That's a lot and like I said, even with donations, it will take a lot of work and money to recover.
ReplyDeleteWow that is alot of money, can they recover? What dod you guys think?
ReplyDelete@Usman that ALOT of money and yes it going to take a long time and alot of money to rebuild japan. That what they think its going to cosgt but it could be more or less but i thinks its around 310 billion. After this japan will never be the same as it was before. They can re-build everything but it wont be like before.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa that is true, do you think they are going to make it?
ReplyDeletethey probably will recover but it will take at least 2 years and the countries economy will lower.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi well, it's possible that they can make it but it will take a while. And other things are unrepairable like the water from the tsunami. Getting the water to go back to the ocean will be very hard if not impossible. I'd like to be positive and say that they will make it but there is just so much damage. This is a way this event will effect the world.
ReplyDelete@Stephane that is true and it hard to build everything exactly the same as it was before. It is very hard to make a unique structure twice.
ReplyDelete@Usman they went through so much, how can you say it will take 2 years.
ReplyDelete@ Alyssa i agree with you it could even stay like that forever but that is the least of the problems this disaster will increase poverty and homelessness.
ReplyDelete@usman, i know i just said i hope it stops because it did cause a lot of problems and destruction that happened anyway they still need lots of money and rebuilding everything destroyed
ReplyDelete@Alyssa good answer. I like how you are being positive about the situation, that is how we should act all the time.
ReplyDelete@Janet that is right because the people in Haiti still never recover from their earthquake.
ReplyDeleteWas the earthquake in Japan bigger than the one in Haiti?
ReplyDelete@Usman i agree with you , poverty and homeless in growing in Japan because i was listening to the news and they were telling a story about the person, who escaped from their village and when the person came back they were shocked to see nothing was left of their home
ReplyDelete@Usman that is right it will increase durastically.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi , yes the earth quake in Japan of one of the strongest and it was bigger then the one in Haiti and so was the effect because then an tsunami and radiation leak came too but still the earthquake in haiti was bad
ReplyDelete@Usman yes poverty and homelessness will be a big problem too.
ReplyDelete@ Abdullahi, I hope they dont build a plant in Ottawa, We aready have one in Kitchener, And that is closer to us then Ottawa. Ottawa is our nations capital, and that is where our government is. Canada has the most dence forests in the world, and if it were to explode, imagine all the forestry, would be destroyed.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa i agree homelessness and poverty are also big problem because while they try to fix japan where are all the people going to stay they lost alot of stuff when the earthquake happened.
ReplyDelete@ usman Thats true, I think it will be more homelessness then poverty, because other countries can provide money and resources, but they cant provide land.
ReplyDelete@ EL Presidente i didn't say it was going to be OK hitakshee said that i was just commenting on it and saying just because the news people say its ok doesn't mean its actually ok.
ReplyDelete@ Amrit I think you dont know the meaning of murder.Murder means when there is either someone involved with it and if it is natural disasters then you would say killed, and ok if you say murder also means natural disasters that killed people then that means if one of your family members died from natural problems would you call that murder because most people in Japan died from natural causes.
But Jan101 what if Haiti and Japan's disasters are likely with the earthquakes because Haiti is still rebuilding their country from all the rubble left and now Japan is like that now and I really think that it is gonna take a while to rebuild the country.
ReplyDelete@ usman that is true it will take a while to build the country but their economy level would be lower and especially from a big exporting country.
ReplyDelete@ Abdullahi that is alot of money if I had all that money I would donate half of it to Japan, and it will take a long time to recover from all that.
ReplyDeleteBut Abdullahi they will have billions of dollars pouring in from stored, schools, and other places because when everyone see's this big tragic earthquake and tsunami everyone will be touched and decide to start something so we can help them as a nation not just only as a school but there are other places donating money to help them.
ReplyDelete@Vanessa, yes Haiti is still building and its been like a year , so i agree it will take a LONG time for Japan to recover from the destruction
ReplyDeleteBen-\\$.:.:.:.>>>~ (G)/~~<<<.:.:.:.$// that is true but probably it could turn into poverty.
ReplyDelete@ Jan101 it is true because with the looks of how bad it looks there........It will take a long time to repair(rebuild)things.
ReplyDelete@Abdullahi the earthquake in Japan was much bigger then the one in Haiti. Japan's was almost 9.0 magnitude and Haiti's was I think around 6.0 magnitude. Much bigger. Thats why the earthquake in Japan caused the Tsunami also.
ReplyDelete@stephanie Japan is also a small country so there will be a lot of crowds to fit everyone.
ReplyDeleteJapan is small and millions ar left homeless this will probably cause the people to move to close countries like korea
