  1. I am doing Roseman: How to stop fighting about housework .. i found this article interesting because this married couple Eric and Nancy divided the housework 50/50 to make things fair. they keep score if they did they're work on time etc. Eric and Nancy defined them selves as a sharing life partner and creating strong union. They have a book and it very quite funny and very original.

  2. A lady on facebook set up a page to turn off facebook for earth hour.By doing this, her goal was to improve the energy conversation initiative.Editors of competing websites, other companies say that Facebook won't do earth hour because it is bad for business. The advertises would lose money. It's funny because the world is going to end by globaL warming, and they won't shut off Face book for a short time so the people of earth can't live for a longer time.

It's like the lady is using what causes global warming to save the world from global warming.

  3. @Talwinder It sounds like something from a cartoon.Eric and Nancy can symbolize the world, the ones that are making drastic changes to help the environment and the ones that aren't.If the world used this example,we could start changing the world now.Or it could represent TDSB funding. The wealth is laziness in this example.

  4. TTC drivers fired for harmless cellphone use, union says
What this article is about is how ttc drivers are getting fired for using there cell phones even when they are on break, some one got fired because she was filming an incident that happened. There is a policy saying that they can't call 911 if there is an emergency, or to check up on something. I understand if they could get fired for using it while on the job but on breaks that doesn't really make sense.

  5. the story i read was about the Royal Wedding (Prince William and Kate Middleton). There was a little secret going around saying that Kate found her dress make for the wedding, but her sister is saying that how that was all a lie and the public will know who the dress maker is when the wedding arrives.

  6. Kelly: Liverpool boss unlike other soccer managers — for now

Liverpool's manager Kenny Dalglish is all smiles at Anfield on Sunday after his team beat United 3-1 in the second of two major Premiership victories, the first against Chelsea.- caption under a picture

I find this article interesting for a number of reasons firstly because Liverpool FC (LFC) is on of the teams I aptly support in the premiership. And secondly because the article talks about the recent upturn in form at the club. Kenny dalglish LFC's new manager nicknamed the King for his exploits during his playing days has done a complete 180 tailspin on the clubs fourtunes.

Liverpool a wounded giant ( They've previously won 18 league titles and hold the joint lead for most domestic titles with Manchester United( Or as i like to call them Manure United) in the premiership has had a real title drought in the past couple of years(the last time they won a trophy was in 2006) and were mired in a relegation battle just a couple months ago.

King Kenny The peoples champ takes the helm from Roy Hodgson and sells fernando torres the clubs best player brings in Andy Carroll (a lad with much potential) and Luis Suarez ( who demonstarted his amazing ability last game against Manchester by wirling past four defenders before putting the ball through the goal keepers legs for an assist en route to a liverpool 3-1 victory.). The King has brought the club back up to where it belongs in the table and next year if he stays on as manager I believe he will challange for the title. For now King Kenny has the midas touch and what hes done in such a short time is remarkable.

You can read the article here at http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/article/949624--kelly-liverpool-boss-unlike-other-soccer-managers-for-now

  7. @Sharpshooter Maybe the people in charge of the TTC are running out of money since the rising energy costs. They might be looking for every way they can cut off workers in order to keep more money for themselves.Or,one of the workers might just have a grudge against another, and they want to kick them out.

  8. I am doing the article: Roseman: How to stop fighting about housework. I found this an intresting article because a married couple, Eric and Nancy, had split up all their house work 50/50 so the work they did aruond their house would be fair. They would keep score if they did their work or not. The couple had seen themselfs as partners, sharing a life and creating a stromng union, but over time they werent acting like partners. Eric and Nancy had an improovmant in marriage once their work share was done diffrently. Nancy would tidy up around their house six nights a week and Eric would do the dishes. The way they split the work up again doesnt seem very fair but it works for them.

  10. TTC drivers fired for harmless cellphone use, union says thats my topic.

first of all is it not allowed anyway to be driving and on the phone?!? if regular drivers cant do it, what gives the idea the the ttc divers can do it, they are puttiong other peoples lives in danger, for driving on a cell phone. the report says

"Kinnear’s message warned workers they could be fired for dialling 911, calling their spouse to say they have to work overtime or even to check up on their sick child".

Kinnear is the president of the ttc. the drivers i think can all find the time to tell those people what ever they have to., when the bus has come to a full and complete stop, and wil be stoped for a decent amount of time so you can make a phone call. we are all going to high school next year and most of us will be taking the ttc. I dont want to be on a bus where the driver gives no attention to the road but to their phone, its not safe.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ gurinder okay the cost are rising but that is a unreasonable way to fire people just for using their cell phones, and how can they be losing money a lot of people use the ttc every day.

  12. The article I'm reading is called "Climate Change to Impact those least Responsible: Study"

A study taken at McGill university shows that the countries that are producing the least greenhouse gases per capita will be the countries that will be most affected. According to the study, people living in hot, low-latitude countries will most likely feel the effects in the next few years. Areas that will be particularly affected will be parts of South America, Central America, Southeast Asia, most of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It's also predicted that more northern countries (Canada, Europe, northern United States etc.) will feel lesser of an impact. It doesn't mean that we won't feel the effects but we will be more equipped for it. Also poorer countries who already depend on the climate will have a harder time sustaining a growing population with a rising climate. This new model will make it possible to make more accurate decisions on the effects of climate change in different regions of the globe. The could be useful for decisoin makers in the international negogations about climate change.

  13. article : Climate change to impact those least responsible: Study

This story is intersting to me because i know this, but most people don't know this is going to happen and affect their future.they think that it's goign to be done with becuase the sciencetist are somehow are going to fix it and it's not goign to affect onward in your or the next generations.

  14. in the article called Libyan "rebels try to regroup after setback", it tells of how the Libyan rebels are not able to take on Gadhafi's air force though able to take on the ground support and how that Libya will turn into a civil war that will drag-out for weeks or months. the rebels say that they can have a major advantage if they capture sirte, the stronghold and hometown of gadhafi. the army colonel who fights with the rebels says he can expect re-enforcements from the east. this rebellion against Gadhafi is suppose to be the longest since the riot in Egypt and Tunisia. many have believed that their was an assassination attempt on Gadhafi but the government spokesmen, Abdel-Majid al-Dursi does not believe in so. hundreds maybe even thousands of people have died since this rebellion had began, we all just hope that it ends quickly

  21. The article I'm doing is titled 'Durham’s oldest cold case headed back to court'.This article is about a case that was cold for more then 30 years but then on March 2008 they arrested Alan Smith for 2nd degree murder of Beverly Lynn, who was shot the head with a.22 calibre bullet at the kitchen table. But then he was released in July 2008 beacuse his wife misled the officers. But then on Dec. 10 2009, he was rearrested for 1st degree murder. They believe that she know her killer because they found no struggle and believed that she invited the killer in,also the neighbours said they never heard the family dog bark. The rest of the article is about how the family is nervous about facing the killer.

  23. @adam yes it is illegal to use your phone while driving so I can understand why they are getting fired. But Thomas is doing the same article and he says that the drivers are also being fired while using their phones on break. That I don't understand. Your phone is your way to connect and communicate to the world. And if your using it during your break, it's not putting anyones life in danger so getting fired does not make sense especially if you need to check up on someone.

  24. The article i read is Climate change to impact those least responsible: Study. I found this article interesting because it was talking about how climate change is going to impact the least responsible and i thought that would be interesting because i was wondering how that was possible. The research had taken place at McGill University, and apparently countries that produce the less green-house effect tend to be the most vulnerable to climate change. “Based on our ecological models, we see that the potential impact of climate change will be the greatest in countries that have contributed very little,” lead researcher and PhD candidate Jason Samson said in an interview. People think that Canada will have lesser degrees.

that is the topic I choose to write about

This topic is about a 49-year old mother was killed in a car crash with a fire truck with the emergency lights on. The truck collied with a car sending it flying to another one. The highway traffic act is reviewing this incident.

  26. My story is about 2 6 year old twins that are missing in Rome. Police say they found the microchip from the navigational device in the car their father. The chip was found Saturday about 15 metres from where Matthias Schepp, 43, threw himself under a train in Cerignola. Alfredo Fabbrocini says the microchip contains data about the route driven by Schepp in the days after he and his daughters Alessia and Livia disappeared from their mother’s home in Switzerland. Scattered pieces of the car’s navigational device, minus the chip, had been found shortly after the suicide. Police and volunteers have been combing the train tracks in Cerignola every day in hopes of finding clues.

  27. @cameron I also hope that itll end quickly but if you look to history leaders who just cant give up power genrally end up having their countries in a civil war I take this from my own personal experience of my own country of somalia when the leader there did not give up power he eventually used military might and now if we fast forward to this day they are still mired in a civil war. Gadhfi also has the military under his control I believe. So all things point to a civil war but I hope it doesnt coem to that.

  28. Spanish drivers slow down amid Libya oil chaos

I think this is fair because the drivers pay for the gas for their cars but oil is becoming rare on earth now. So trying to slow the speed limit could atleast slow down the oil consiption. Spanish drivers slowed down to obey a new speed limit set by the government to reduce energy use of oil production chaos in Libya that has sent fuel prices soaring.

The TTC is fired about 50 people for using cellphones on the job which i understand is very dangerous but on of the drivers got fired becuse a pasenger spit on her and left so she pulled the bus out of the way so no was in harms way and called 911 and then got fired for doing so they should have the right to call 911. The union says that if the the drivers call 911 on the job they will get fired as well. Do you think that is fair.

  35. @ gurinder

hey don't say we are bad,we are trying well at least the schools and other systems are trying to make us or most of us Eco-friendly.trying to make us realize that it's going to affect others creatures if we pollute.

you know, the adults don't really care and the some people have notice that so they are telling this things to children so they know about this[and they obviously care about the future cause they are going to live in it] and convince the adults.
and you are right the people who don't deserve this ,they get the worst part and also the animals, what did they do? it not right, what can we do to stop it or affect us too.[which most people are not going to like]

  36. Article:
climate change impact those lest responsible Study:

this article is talking about how the global warming is going to affect people but what this is trying to say is that global warming is going to affect the most to the people who are less responsible and don't care about global warming. the article said the the most impact is going to hit the countries like South America, Central America, the Arabian Peninsula, and Southeast Asia because of there irresponsible behavior and more impact on global warming. but what i think is that they should do a little bit more research on this because i don't get how the less responsible are going to be the one's who will be affected the most. this was what my article was about.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i agree with you heli that we are not bad we are trying our best and are really helping reduce the amount of global warming. But it's only that not everyone is participating in this and are not doing their share to lessen the amount of global warming.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Usman i think it is not Fair because the rules are suppose to be same for everyone and they can't just say that the TTC drivers can't call 911 on job or else they will get fired. They can call 911 whenever they want (like when they are in trouble or something like that i don't mean as if in just for time pass). So i think it is not fair and in this case it was not the drivers fault.

    ReplyDelete
  39. i agree Stephanie like it might be really dangerous when you have more then 1 person on the vehicle and you are talking on cellphone because it's against the rules and like i said that rules are suppose to be same for everyone. But i think that it is okay if you are on cellphone when you are on break because you are not driving the vehicle and it's not dangerous. so yeah i agree with you Stephanie.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @usman i agree it make no sence even if there on break or not behind the wheel then they should have the right to use there cellphones.what if it was an emergency and they needed to make a call they should be allowed to.

Good choice of an article Hitakshee and i agree i think they should do more study's and explain how the less responsible/action takers are going to be affective but i think i have an idea, i think its because since they affect the planet more theres going to be a bigger whole in there ozone layer and there surrounding are going to be affected by natural disasters since there uneco friendly attitude is going cause some Eco problem like underwater volcanoes or earthquakes while were protected because were more Eco-freindly

  48. @Vanessa It's too bad that companies can't afford to shut down their advertisements temporarily so the rest of the world can just be a bit more energy conservative in order to have a potentially brighter future.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @ Vanessa

it is not falling apart we are destroying for the creatures that lives on this plant including us, and this planet is the only place we can survive.

And that is great idea; adds it will get it around faster.In-fact there are already adds about it but it's like charity to help people protect the environment when if we can't help or we want to help more. But i don't think many people are going to respond to it;why would they give the money to help clean the mess others made more then them, and the "others" are not even think about this?
and i know the advertising cost a lot of money [that's why sometimes some adds are really fast and you don't get what they are trying to say}and people who have "a lot" money don't really care about this.that's why is such a big deal.

  50. @SharpShooter If famous youtube stars like Ray William Johnson or the Annoying Orange or some other youtube sensation promoted this, many more people would participate because the very important cause of Earth Hour might catch the attention of the audience around the world. Then again,we can give up on global warming and let us all rot in the heat of the sun.

That, and then roll over and die :)

  51. @Heli Animals are seen as weaklings when compared to the companies. The money, the power that they have,is so much that they can take the life of several (possibly rare) species of all types of animals in order to see if their product is adequate.

They might think this:''Animals are powerless,we are better than them so we can do what we need to in order to gain wealth at the expense of someone else.'' Almost like human exploitation, relating to TDSB funding.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @Heli and Vanessa There is no real time when the world will change.Sure, everyone can recognize this problem, but that doesn't mean that they'll actually do anything about it? Can the population of Canada and United States (and other giant pollution creating super power countries) actually change? People want to feel like not doing anything if it doesn't REALLY affect them.We can't change humans, and not EVERYONE can be inspired.

We think globally, and act locally. But it doesn't mean that thinking locally leads to acting globally.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @Heli Another thing, humans ARE that bad.We think we're acting all eco friendly, but it doesn't compare. The idea that making small changes that we think are so large is NOTHING compared to what the First Nations people did.Their environments were so sustainable, that if the industrial revolution never happened,or moved at a slower, more wiser rate,we could still have sustainable, healthy environments (globally, not the humans themselves).

It's like we trade off having a sustainable environment with little power so we can have a doomed earth but mind blowing power (eg nukes).

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ gurinder
the animals look weak in some people's eyes,i don't think it's the animals fault,we can't change that or people who think money is everything.
why can we just them that that if they weren't their in the first place we humans won't be living today and ruling this world which is also their,it could have worked if it was a perfect world.it seems impossible now but maybe in the future people will...ok they are just going to suffer this the hard way.

  58. @Heli If we look from the perspective of the leader of this company him/her self...Do you really think that the leader cares about these animals? It's just a way to test, believing that these animals will not affect them.

I am NOT at all saying that animals should be tested on,but it's something that won't be fixed.
I mean, unless the whole population broke out against this and fixed it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Talwinder , do you think its a good idea to split the housework 50/50 ?

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Heli The first nations didn't know it...It's almost like ''Ignorance Is Bliss'' meaning that it's better that they never knew so that they would never do!

All of us,this generation that is very recent (like past 30 years) has been born but has been born in a life style where we have luxuries and we emit so many wastes into the atmosphere. We continue to pollute because that's how it started.

When we start something, and keep doing it,we can't stop it.Terrible! But now that the world has had a taste of this power (with the side effect of chaos!) it will not stop,it will continue to grow and grow and we'll all roll over and die once we can't buy any more video games!

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Heli I CAN say that they didn't try,but it doesn't mean it is true. The people that truly understand global warming, and are determined to do something about it can't make a significant difference.
You can care about global warming all you want, but doing something isn't enough.Don't just do,CHANGE.
The amount of people that actually live like that, are so miniscule, almost microscopic compared to the people that don't.

So...it will continue to go on,a vicious cycle.
