Sarah was paranoid because when she got caught cheating she blamed the person(katie) that didn't get caught when they called everyone down to the office.

I think Katie does know something.Maybe she heard Rob say something about running away.I think that Rob might've run away so he can't get caught by his parents.Maybe he'll use a stranger on the phone to call the principal.
I agree with you EL Presidente, this does happen in real life, confusing if they are really friends or she just said sorry and isn't actually keeping in touch with her and really became friends again.
What happened to Rob? It reminds me of when David went missing in Rebound. What if he commited suicide? Why though? no punishment is more extreme then death.
Rob might have fell a sleep when he was walking home since it mentioned that he was tired and his legs were sore. He could have fell asleep on a bench or somewhere, doesn't seem like katie know where he is. First guess when she said he was dead I'm guessing her father died the same way he was missing and didn't come home the other day.
i think the firendship between sarah and kaite is not ture eventhough they have been together foe many years. but i don't think kaite would tell on sarah, she looked really surprized when sarah told her she thought katie had told on them.
@ Alyssa Yeah I doubt that too Katie really seems to cherish her friendship. And wow this is an interesting developmental But Robs not dead is he he was at the hotel or something in the other chapter but he fainted.
I think it was Dumb for Sarah to convict Katie of "snitching" on them without proof and I am happy that they have made up but i really feel bad for Rob and his parents because its hard when you cheat you cant face you're parents because you're parents expect you to be the perfect child its hard to go home knowing you're family's reputation is gone and you're parents are going to be mad at you
I think Jake is afraid that Sarah Dan and Rob are planning to get everyone to destroy Jake.By destroying,it means hating and bullying.Jake believes that his future will be better if his past is sad.
@Gurinder I don't know if she knows something because she thinks he's dead and believes it but I don't think he is. He just ran away but I don't think Katie knows that.
@ cripple facing his father when he finds out that he cheated on his mid term. Rob mentioned in one part when he was in the office he was thinking that his old man was going to kill him.

@Heli, i agree friendship between Sarah and Katie aren't that strong as they should be, they were together for years and they must have built up some friendship and be closer than i thought, but i guess they keep they're distances sometimes, so they don't get on each other bad side.
@gurinder I didn't really catch much on Jake what he all about I can tell he seems to be a loser by the he speaks of himself but how'd he come to give the answers to Sarah.
Jake's uncle sounds like a very interesting man, someone who can affirm the statement "I am the nerd that will be your boss 20 years from now". It may be rude, but it's realisticly possible.
I, ve been in Katies postion bofore, like Katie, A friend of mine thought I told on them, which I did, but not to get him im trouble, He was already in trouble no doubt, but i just went to go get him so that he wouldnt get into even more trouble, then one student twisted the situation like told told on him so that he would get in trouble. we diddnt talk for a while, but now we r back to the way we were before. So I believe the same will go to katie
I agree with talwinder and zak your friends forgive you but dont actual tell you and you still think that there mad or upset at something they thoguth you did.
i think that Katie would not tell this to anyone i think that is this is going to be a secret betwee them because they seem to be good friends i know they are but sometimes something makes me think that they are not that good friends. But what i think that Katie wouldn't snitch on Sarah.
@ Alysaa i agree with you I don 't think Katie would tell on Sarah. They are good friends and would not snitch on one another. Maybe one of them thought of telling on the other, but because of their friendship they didn't.
I think that feeling Katie Just had was extremely realistic it does happen sometimes you can just tell when something happens you get that gut feeling, like how Katie said she knew when her dad died.
Jake seems to have some type of false sense of security.If he has a sad childhood,and then he'll have a place in this world when he is an adult:he is wrong.There's no guarantee that Jake will feel at peace with himself,he could lead the rest of his life like this or he could forget one day.
@ Alyssa I agree with you cause it does look like that Katie and Sarah their like sisters and when Katie went to tell Sarah that she didn't copy Sarah got angry at her and she said stuff to her but Katie didn't take it to heart and forgive her.
I think that Katie wants to be friends with Sarah a lot because she always wants her to talk to her because she thinks that Sarah is still mad at her, Sarah knows that it was not Katie but she does not want her to know that.

But Katie doesn't know that Sarah has forgiven her because she didn't email her back. But I think when they go back to school they will become friends again.
@ Stephanie I don't think that Robs dead he seems to just be Missing he ran away but he could just be asleep on the tarmac outside the hotel or wherever he was when he thought about the macaroni.

@ Sharpshooter, then that would be better then suicide, for suicide is unhonorable to yourself, whereas if someone kills you, its unhonorable for the person that kills you. But maybe if his dad actually was going to kill him, then maybe he would do it for him, to stop him from getting convicted. But honestly, I dont think that Rob's dad is going to kill him, its a midterm, its not like he murdered a family or something.
I think that Katie thinks Rob is dead because Katie cares so much about Rob.Feelings are so exaggerated in her relationship,that Katie only thinks of the worst.

@gurinder thats true nothing ever 100% but I think its just that Jake finds solace in the fact that his uncle was a "nerd" like him and now hes successful and he feels that that will be him in a couple of years so thats his motivation to get him out of high school I think.

@Gurinder You have a point there but I think she was so scared that she was brought back to the time her Pa died like she said in the book and the feelings were so overwhelming that she felt they were real just like a dream that seems all to real to put it into perspective.

I thought Rob was at some sort of convienience store when he stopped. But I don't understand. I know he ran away because he was afraid of his father but now he will get in even more trouble by both his parents for running away AND cheating.

I juyst think rod is in redemption from cheating on the test, especially that now he has n choice but to tell his perents what happened and face the conciquences. he better come home before school starts next week because Mr.Chan is expecting a call from his parents, and if he doesnt, He is going to be suspicous and Robs case is going to become a really big deal. @ Sharpshooter It's psycology to think that your parents are going to kill you for doing something wrong. It's become a cliche now in the school system because parents do get angry if we fail a test, parents do get angry when we get in trouble, that indoctrinates a sense of fear into your heart and then you automatically think that your parents are going to get angry, because they are.
I think Rob feel asleep somewhere and when he woke up he forgot which way to get home.Because he was depressed and when he was walking around he didn't know which way he was going and didn't even check his surroundings to see where he was going.

Katies and Sarah's relationship for friend isn't going in the right path/direction, they have there ups and downs and right now isn't there very best moments, they are very confused if they had forgiven each other or weather or not they are actually friends or not.
@Talha and Usman, this is a very tough time for Rob, and committing suicide is a very common thing, but i don't think that Rob would really do that to avoid this awkward and unusual situation because suicide remains killing for the wrong reasons, and Rob is very scared of his dad but yet he just suck it up and take all the pain of what he deserves.
@Nancy, maybe your theory is right, because last time i recall Rob was lost and he didn't remember where he was going, maybe just fell dead and went to sleep randomly and when he woke up he remembered everything and maybe it was fine or he was lost and couldn't return home.

Yes indeed Katie's reaction was very unnecessary, i think it just created a whole new drama scene and which made the book more intense and more interesting/suspenseful but you could take this more to of a relation to calling it "exaggeration"

He is just thinking/ walking around and working this out. 4. He commited suicide. 5. Just needed to get as far as possible away from this situation so he went to his grandmothers.
The best one i believe is 3, he is just walking around the neighbor and thinking this out before he gets in trouble by his dad.
The reactions from Dan's father was very surprising, i thought he was going to get in very much trouble but pretty much his father made Dan's mother give make his priories, i think Dan's father just trust Dan alot that he knows he wont do it again, and if he does then Dan's father is going to have to change the rules up at home so he would have to be more responsible.

He could easily have gotten lost because he wasn't paying much attention to where he was going; he was just looking at his feet and walking. So getting lost is also a possibility.

@Alyssa what I mean by when Rob shouldn't be in that much trouble is because atleast he never got caught for the real exam this was just mid term which is a next called term for the teachers knowledge of how well the student is doing and the next step for the child to improve it's weeknesses and pass the exam thus getting their diploma.

Most likely #3 but if he was just walking how come no one saw him because his mom called a bunch of people and i think that he went somewhere that only he knows alot like in rebound when david dissapered he just wanted to be alone and away from all the problems till he found out what he wanted to do.
@Janat well not really sarah forgives katie but katie does not know that sarah forgave her so she still thinks that she didnt.And then there the whole problem of how there saying Rob died.No one knows where he is and no ones knows what happened to him and if he really did died or he is just missing.
yeah I don't think Rob will cheat again. It's way to risky because if he cheated again, then he'd get in more trouble by the school and his father. And since he is afraid of what his father might do, it's very unlikely that rob will cheat again.
@Alyssa i disagree most of the time when your walkign you do look at the ground but you do notice where you are like in united we stand james and will went for a walk and they were just walking not knowing where they were going yet they did not get lost and i dont think rob would be so carless as to get lost while just being on a walk.

@Stephanie it was Rob's mom on the phone. she called to see if they knew where Rob was. Katie was confused about why they called her because her and Rob hadn't spoken to each other in a while. Then she started thinking about how before they used to be really good friends but then it became awkward and weird to hand around guys, something happened between them and now they don't talk to each other anymore.
She told her Mom he was dead after the call because she had the same feeling as when her Dad died.

@Alyssa thanks ok so from what alyssa told me robs mom called katie home to see if she knew where rob was but then robs mom talked to katies mom and told her that rob was dead.But no one is for sure that he is dead so far its on big puzzle that missing some pieces.
@Stephanie basically but when Katie's mom asked katie if she knew where Rob was to tell his mom, she didn't know and didn't say anything. Her Mom then told rob's Mom that she didn't know and hung up. Then she asked Katie what really happened because she was scared and that's when Katie said he's dead. So Rob's parents don't know/think that Rob is dead although Katie and her Mom do.
@Stephanie, i agree with you #3 with my pro scenarios, is the most common one but the very usual one that most likely Rob will choose, he is at this position where he needs time alone and he needs to work things out and get facts/things straight
@Alyssa, i agree but AT LEAST he never did it on the real exam, thus he wont get in that much trouble, but he still did cheat and he would get consequences but just not as much. It still is alot worth for your grade, the mid-term and i think Rob failed because of his getting caught cheating.
@Alyssa, Jake is the one who got the test answers from his sister Ruby and he gave it to Rob, and Rob gave it to Sarah, and Sarah gave it to Dan, Katie etc.

@Alyssa, Ruby is just a sister of Jake. Jake stole the answer from Ruby, and Jake gave it to Rob, Rob gave it to Sarah, and she gave it to Dan and Katie.
Katie never got caught because she decided last minute not to cheat.
@Talwinder yes he didnt face his punishment but now we know that he didnt die or commite suicide but Rob is also thinking about his litle brother and how hid mom would react when she found out what he did.Rob still worried about what his father would say,and about how his father migth take it out on his little brother but in the chapter on rob it didnt mention anything on if he thought about going home or not.

Mostly kids think they will get away will cheating, but teachers expect you to study and they also have their ways of checking if they studied, or cheat etc. Rob made the wrong decision, but i think that he shouldn't commit suicide and just go back home and be around family.

ReplyDeleteRob might have fell a sleep when he was walking home since it mentioned that he was tired and his legs were sore. He could have fell asleep on a bench or somewhere, doesn't seem like katie know where he is. First guess when she said he was dead I'm guessing her father died the same way he was missing and didn't come home the other day.

ReplyDeleteI, ve been in Katies postion bofore, like Katie, A friend of mine thought I told on them, which I did, but not to get him im trouble, He was already in trouble no doubt, but i just went to go get him so that he wouldnt get into even more trouble, then one student twisted the situation like told told on him so that he would get in trouble. we diddnt talk for a while, but now we r back to the way we were before. So I believe the same will go to katie

ReplyDelete@ Sharpshooter, then that would be better then suicide, for suicide is unhonorable to yourself, whereas if someone kills you, its unhonorable for the person that kills you. But maybe if his dad actually was going to kill him, then maybe he would do it for him, to stop him from getting convicted. But honestly, I dont think that Rob's dad is going to kill him, its a midterm, its not like he murdered a family or something.

ReplyDeleteIt's psycology to think that your parents are going to kill you for doing something wrong. It's become a cliche now in the school system because parents do get angry if we fail a test, parents do get angry when we get in trouble, that indoctrinates a sense of fear into your heart and then you automatically think that your parents are going to get angry, because they are.
I think Rob feel asleep somewhere and when he woke up he forgot which way to get home.Because he was depressed and when he was walking around he didn't know which way he was going and didn't even check his surroundings to see where he was going.

ReplyDelete@Talha and Usman, this is a very tough time for Rob, and committing suicide is a very common thing, but i don't think that Rob would really do that to avoid this awkward and unusual situation because suicide remains killing for the wrong reasons, and Rob is very scared of his dad but yet he just suck it up and take all the pain of what he deserves.

The best one i believe is 3, he is just walking around the neighbor and thinking this out before he gets in trouble by his dad.
The reactions from Dan's father was very surprising, i thought he was going to get in very much trouble but pretty much his father made Dan's mother give make his priories, i think Dan's father just trust Dan alot that he knows he wont do it again, and if he does then Dan's father is going to have to change the rules up at home so he would have to be more responsible.

All these statments could be true because it sounds like what Rob would do...

He could easily have gotten lost because he wasn't paying much attention to where he was going; he was just looking at his feet and walking. So getting lost is also a possibility.

Most likely #3 but if he was just walking how come no one saw him because his mom called a bunch of people and i think that he went somewhere that only he knows alot like in rebound when david dissapered he just wanted to be alone and away from all the problems till he found out what he wanted to do.

Katie was confused about why they called her because her and Rob hadn't spoken to each other in a while. Then she started thinking about how before they used to be really good friends but then it became awkward and weird to hand around guys, something happened between them and now they don't talk to each other anymore.

ReplyDelete@Alyssa thanks ok so from what alyssa told me robs mom called katie home to see if she knew where rob was but then robs mom talked to katies mom and told her that rob was dead.But no one is for sure that he is dead so far its on big puzzle that missing some pieces.
ReplyDelete@Stephanie basically but when Katie's mom asked katie if she knew where Rob was to tell his mom, she didn't know and didn't say anything. Her Mom then told rob's Mom that she didn't know and hung up. Then she asked Katie what really happened because she was scared and that's when Katie said he's dead. So Rob's parents don't know/think that Rob is dead although Katie and her Mom do.
ReplyDelete@Stephanie, i agree with you #3 with my pro scenarios, is the most common one but the very usual one that most likely Rob will choose, he is at this position where he needs time alone and he needs to work things out and get facts/things straight
ReplyDelete@Alyssa, i agree but AT LEAST he never did it on the real exam, thus he wont get in that much trouble, but he still did cheat and he would get consequences but just not as much. It still is alot worth for your grade, the mid-term and i think Rob failed because of his getting caught cheating.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa, Jake is the one who got the test answers from his sister Ruby and he gave it to Rob, and Rob gave it to Sarah, and Sarah gave it to Dan, Katie etc.
ReplyDelete@Talha, i don't think that Rob will go as far doing suicide because he has a life in front of him ,and he got cheating for once i don't think he would do that, i think he just went to walk around and work it out. But i definitely agree that suicide is the last of life, Death, but i don't that Rob did it.
ReplyDelete@Stephanie, i agree i think that Jakes uncle is going to be one of the main characters, he's going to keep coming up in the book maybe he might be responsible for Jake to cheat, he pushed him towards cheating and he will get blamed at last, never know but I defiantly agree with you upon when you said that he is going to achieve being one of the highlights and major character or "the cheat"

ReplyDelete@Stephanie, yeah, he did need time to think but i think he made the wrong descion because he is going to get in more trouble, because he never took the pain and consequences like a man said Rob, he think his dad is going to go all in on him.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa, Ruby is just a sister of Jake. Jake stole the answer from Ruby, and Jake gave it to Rob, Rob gave it to Sarah, and she gave it to Dan and Katie.

@Talwinder yes he didnt face his punishment but now we know that he didnt die or commite suicide but Rob is also thinking about his litle brother and how hid mom would react when she found out what he did.Rob still worried about what his father would say,and about how his father migth take it out on his little brother but in the chapter on rob it didnt mention anything on if he thought about going home or not.

ReplyDelete@Stephanie, Rob should just go back with his family and just take the pain, he knew this would happen sooner or later. Mostly kids think they will get away will cheating, but teachers expect you to study and they also have their ways of checking if they studied, or cheat etc. Rob made the wrong decision, but i think that he shouldn't commit suicide and just go back home and be around family.
