Dan was so confident not to worry about being caught cheating. He was cocky and arrogant about the situation. But he was the first one to snitch and cave in to save himself in Mr. Chen's office! What do you think about Dan? Is he realistic and is this behaviour realistic?
I think Dan is a snitch and he sticking up for himself because he doesn't want to be caught himself so he told on other people, thus leaving him out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteI think he is a realistic person, relating to real life. Most of the people don't want to get in trouble so they tell on other people therefore leaving themselves out of trouble.

ReplyDeleteI think Dan is the type of person who does anything to make sure they don't get caught and he wants people to think he isn't scared of the principal and he wants people to think that hes tough but when push comes to shove Dan was really scared about what had happened and he it seemed like he regret doing it even if he was so confident about it. I think him and his behavior is realistic because a lot of people in beaumonde even would act tough and get into fights but when they go into the principals office they would be really scared and they wont be acting "tough" like they were acting outside and just like that Dan does the same thing , he acts tough and he tries to make everyone else think hes tough but when he gets into trouble he tries to act innocent and acts like he did nothing wrong.
ReplyDeleteYes Dan is realistic because he is saving himself and only cares if he gets off the hook. This behavior is realistic because he acts like he doesn't care about the situation but in the inside he doesn't want to get in trouble. He probably snitched on his friends so that he would look like the good guy and try and get himself out of the situation. I think Dan is a normal student at school and I think many people follow his actions as well.
ReplyDeleteI think Dan is a snitch and he was only trying to save himself because he doesnt want his parents to find out. Dan is realistic in the way how he doesnt want his parents to find out about him cheating, and how he will do anything to prevent them from finding out.
ReplyDelete@Niida, i agree with you at the part where you said that most of the beaumonde students act tough out of class and on school pavements, and when they get caught and they get in trouble, they act all scared and they start to panic a lot and act very innocent so they wont get a call home and they wont get any consequence.
ReplyDeleteDan acts like he is sly and can get away with anything he does no matter the situation he is in. What I think about him is he's so indulged in his self righteousness, He probabley had a smirk on his face when he got called down to the office thinking he had done so good he would be rewarded.
ReplyDeleteHe behaviour is realistic lots of people would rat someone else first thing thinking they would get off easier then the person who got in trouble. I don't see how people wouldn't do that in a situation like that, I would say it is kinda like a reflex you know who was involved and helped you; so you rat them out first thing.
Anyone that says that is fake no one would act the way he did is ethier they never got in trouble or have seen it happen before. It is easier to say then do something, this is just my reasoning.
i agree with talwinder he acts so bad then when he gets in trouble he blams the whole thing on other people. Dan is a realistic person because alot of people snitch on others when they get in trouble. Dan should get in more trouble because it is his falt for taking the answers he knew it was wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think his behaviour is realistic because some people can get so cocky about getting caught for something. They'll be like "Yeah I cheated but I don't care. So what if I get caught? I'll be suspended. Whatever" But then they probably realize that they will get in a lot bigger trouble when they get to the principal's and snitch. So I think Dan is a realistic character.
ReplyDeleteThere is no point trying not to confess.Dan cheated,he got caught and now he needs to save himself. What is Sarah and Rob capable of doing if they're the ones who suffer and Dan is not in this career threatening peril?
ReplyDeleteSarah and Rob can't hire some goons at their school to rough up Dan,can they?
Dan shouldn't of cheated from the start. We all know this is the right answer but many of us try to cheat anyway. It's like that connection to how we all think we're at the pinnacle of intelligence. We keep thinking we're at the top of where we can be (in skills).Pathetic sacks of meat like Dan think they can pull of a cheated test (meaning executing a successful cheated test),but they fail miserably.
Dan is the kind of person who thinks that if he acts all calm and innocent, he can get away from being one of the suspects people tend to try and change their mood and emotion so that they can escape from being detected of any lies. i think Dan is the person who was cheating on the test
ReplyDelete@Niida i agree with you, because practicly everyone will act as if their tough and arent scared of anything, and once they get caught they will start panicing and will act innocent and blmae who ever else was there.
ReplyDeleteits ironic that the coolest guy, telling the rest to stay clam and not panic, instantly sold his friends out at the 1st chance!
ReplyDeletedid he set up Rob and Sarah? convince them that it was no bid deal so he would have the 1st chance to save himself.
I think Dan is a snitch for sticking for himself so he wouldnt get caught and yes Dan is a realistic character because, any kid in real life would of snitched to keep themselves out of trouble.
ReplyDelete@Usman, he shouldn't be in more trouble than any other students because they did the same amount of cheating, but for the fact he ditched everybody, and he snitched and got himself out of trouble that should get him into more trouble.
ReplyDeletei think he is realistic, and the way he acts shows that because a person when they get caught cheating they would, in anyway would like to get themselves out of the mess, and that's what Dan did first thing.I also think that what he thinks about his father getting mad at him seems just like what many stundents may worry about the most.
ReplyDelete@ Talwinder , @ Nida
ReplyDeleteLets say you were in this situation. If they made you tell the truth would you snitch on your friends and leave yourself out of it? Or would you not tell them anything?
Dan thinks hes being smart by snitching on others and blaming them to get out of trouble but this only makes him a scared coward. He only thinks about himself, he could have been like
ReplyDeleteSarah and take at least some of the blame but he didn't.
This is pretty realistic because people when in trouble they dont want the blame to be on them

ReplyDeleteI think Dan is the type of person who will try to get out of trouble by telling on other people,
ReplyDeletehe's selfish and will do anything to keep from getting caught or in trouble.
The way he is and acted was realistic because in real life there are alot of people who will snitch on their friends to keep from getting in trouble.
@Mr.Cheney, i think he did set Rob and Sarah up to get in trouble, thus leaving him out of trouble and not getting a call home.
ReplyDelete@Talwinder , i agree .. when they caught they do anything not to get a call home.
ReplyDeleteI thought Rob would have been the first to panic and save himself!
ReplyDeletedo you think Rob would have snitched?
@Pamela, that would be a very awkward situation, so i think i wouldn't snitch, i wouldn't say a world, i would rather get in trouble and get a call home rather than snitching on my friends and making them take the pain by themselves, when i could stay there and get the same amount of trouble as them.
ReplyDeletei think that Dan is a type of person the is always doing thing with his friends that will cause him to get in trouble and then when he get's in trouble he snitch's or blames it on other people and takes himself out of this hook.
ReplyDeleteI do think that he is a realistic character because in real life when people get in trouble they always want themselves to do something that will get them out of trouble and then so they blame it on others or maybe they will snitch before anyone finds out what did they do. so i do think that Dan is a realistic character.
What i think about dan is he is the kind of person who would do anything to make it look likes someone eles fault instead of his.Like in mr.chen office he snitch first so it made him look like he didnt something as wrong as sarah or rob.
ReplyDeleteYesm i think dan is relictic because the way he acts when he is in the office is normal. And his behavior is relistic because when hes in trouble he acts that he does not know what the principal is talking about which is what most people do.
@Mr Cheney Ironic, but realistic. If the three kept saying none of them knew how they obtained the cheated copy, the situation would get worse and worse.Dan is ''experienced'' in these types of situations, assumed by him always being called to the office (it was said earlier in the book).
ReplyDeleteDan isn't smart enough to set up such a devious plan.It just happened to be that he was telling everyone to be calm, and then he was a coward on the inside.
@ Usman why should he get in mroe trouble if he pinned the whole thing one sarah she was the one that gave them the answer he still got in trouble in the end. When people get in trouble they only want to get to the bottom they will most likely miss the little details, and want to know who started the entire thing.
ReplyDeleteIt depends to the extent of the situation if Robs parents had come in he would have snitched I feel to avoid his fathers punishment because of the way he seems to fear his fathers punishment I don't think his resolve would be so strong. But if he maybe had a parent like Sarah's he would have snitched in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteDan acts like he can get away, and then he's caught and he has to snitch to get past this dilemma. He's a coward! As he may be a coward,he would do what I would do.Does Dan really care about Sarah and Rob? Why should he let himself suffer alongside these two other pathetic sacks of meat that are called students.
ReplyDeleteDan sounds like a person who would fight for himself, but not others
@Bailee , i agree .. when they get caught they would tell other people not to say names but they always end up saying all the people that were there.
ReplyDelete@gurinder Don't just look at his fasad not always is everyone the person you think they are. Dan I assume is not the brightest in academics(because of his need for the copy) but since he plays football his strategic part of him maybe strong.
ReplyDeletehe probably did set up Rob and Sarah because he thinks that if he is snitching on them, he will be able to taken out of the suspect list and he would get out of the school drug free
ReplyDeleteyeah i agree with Talwinder that Dan did set Rob and Sarah up to get in trouble because since he never got a phone call or in trouble i think that he might had done something before anyone could find out and got himself out of this trouble.
ReplyDelete@Mr.Cheney I think that rob was going to be the first person to snitch because he was so worried about Mr.Chen telling his father and in his head he had thought about telling Mr.Chen who did it because he didnt want his father to find out.Rob was saying ill do anything give away my organs just dont tell my dad.It looked to me that he was pretty desprate to not get in trouble.
ReplyDeleteYes i did think that rob was going to snitch first because he didnt want to get in trouble but he ended up keeping his cool and then dan snitched. But sarah is still convinced that katie told there teacher that they used animal and cheated.
@Mr Cheney he could've set himself up because he seems sly and could come up with a plan like this to say don't worry don't worry but then be the first one to snitch because he's selfish and doesn't want to get in trouble. Although wouldn't it have been smarter to not cheat and not have to come up with some plan like this to snitch and get in a smaller amount of trouble? Because not cheating would've gotten him into no trouble.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that if Dan hadn't snitched that Rob would've because Rob might be afraid of his father but he doesn't seem like the selfish and mean type who would snitch. He seems like he would come up with a plan to avoid telling his parents but not a plan to snitch on them.
I think that he never did set up Sarah and Rob so that he could snitch first but when it came down to him, his emotions got the better of him and he just burted it out.
ReplyDeleteI think that Rob wouldn't have snitched because he was so out of it and looked like he was going to faint if they called his parents.
I don't think rob would have blamed his friends he seems to caught up in worrying about his dad that he wouldn't think about that that moment.
ReplyDeleteI think Dan would have set up his friends like that he seems like the type of person who has a lot of experience when it comes to something like this. He was jsut setting them up so he can get out easier
@ thomas it is not fair that sarah gets in more trouble because it is his falt for taking the answers he has a brain its not like he was forced to take the answers he took them with his own free will
ReplyDelete@sharpshooter I agree because he seemed to be so caught up in the moment worrying about his father that he wouldn't have snitched on Sarah and Dan if Dan hadn't.
ReplyDelete@sharpshooter I agree because like alyssa said he was think about what his dad whould do if he found out then he was like how his father didnt have to know until he had to make his parents sign the test and call the principal.
ReplyDeleteI think Dan is smart for telling because if any of you guys heard his but "HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY" and he sure kind of got himself out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteThis is realistic because alot of people tell the truth because they dont want to get into trouble, and trust me everyone's been there.
@Vanessa I'm not sure about that. Yes Dan told the truth by saying Sarah gave it to him (which she did) but I don't know a lot of people who tell the truth to get out of trouble. Usually, if they are in trouble, telling the truth will get them in more trouble. So I think in most cases, the more realistic thing to happen would be for someone to lie about what they did.
