  1. some people are really upset but it's better to be safe then sorry.
"How important is one day of school vs. safety?"
i agree with this it's only one day of school we miss.also even if the school not closed it would be hard for us to get to school also not all the staff live near the school and because of the snow the road are getting hard to drive on it just wouldn't be safe.

  2. Someone commented as CP24 is the worst offender
I think that that person is wrong because I was watching CP24 today and i think they did a good job. They did make it seem like it was going to snow like crazy, but it kind of did. I think that people should be happy that they brodcast it because if there was noone to di that job, then it would be hectic

  3. i agree they should be happy about this other wish going out in this snow is horrible
i had an doctor's appointment and i notice that the road was really slippery ( i saw a car it was about to make a turn and it almost ended up on the side walk)and on the road i didn't see many car so many people were in their houses.i am glad we didn't have school today.i bet if we did, there would have lots of accidents and the police would have been really busy.

  4. yeah some people are upset but like Heli said it better to be safe than sorry. and by the way it is only one day of school. even if the school would not have been closed i bet there will be only few people who would be coming and yeah like most of the staff does not live even any close to the school and so maybe it would be really hard for them to come or reach to the school on time. well we can't do anything about this though right like you can't trust the weather never know when it changes. ENJOY THE WHOLE DAY AT HOME DOING NOTHING!!!

i am still concern about tomorrow if it is going to be day 5 or 4. we also missed one period of science to work on our project,it is due on MONDAY!! but we got one extra day to work on our KING movie review.

  5. yeah, i agree, with heli and pamelaa because it is better to safe and sound, then on the roads , where i bet if we had school alot accidents would have happend and maybe not many parent would have sent their kids on snow days like this and i dont think teachers would want to some either because most of them have their own kids to deal with too, adn wont want it be un safe for them too

  6. ya i agree with janat and heli that it is better to be saft then sorry like even if it means no school that weather was very dangerous and if you wee not dressed proper you could have gotten very sick

  7. i think closeing the Schools today was a good call, because better safe than sorry. no body wants to be in a car collision for driving to work. especialy like the article says teachers come from all over and its a long drive every day and with the snow, it gets even longer, so i think the TDSB made a good call on this one

  8. Wow schools were cancelled for the first time this century I new it was long but not that long.
Anyways In a job like being head of a school board you have to be prepared for the worst case scenario and that was students not being able to get home.
And in the end I understand that it was hard for families with younger children to find other arrangements but it would have been extremly trecharous getting them to schols or daycares anyways.
And like Pamela said people should not have been critizing the decsesion because I just looked out my window and theres plenty of snow on the ground.
    Plus everyone loves a snowday.

  9. I think it was a good idea because some people live farther away from the school than others. And it would have been hard for the littler kids to get to school with all the snow. And like people have been saying it's better to be safe than sorry. I guess some people would be upset because maybe they would have to rebook appointments but I think it was a good decision by the TDSB to close the schools. And who doesn't love a snowday?

  10. i think it was good because if the students stay out in the cold for so long, hey can catch the flu, and so they would not the flu to spread because they care about the students of the schools in the Toronto district. some students might have a problem with cold weather. And now the true reason why people like a snow day is that they can catch up on their work

  11. agreed with El Presidente woww a centuryy .. i knew it was a long time but thats reallly long ! and i also agree with @Heli better to be safe then sorry ! but parents shouldnt be mad about daycare because everyone knew about this storm coming since the weekend.. they should of been preparedd .. jus sayinn

  12. Yes there was lots of warning about the storm, and you don't get the flu or sick from cold weather, you get it from germs. Better chance of getting a cold waiting inside the school with 50 other students in the stairwell then standing outside!

  13. i was listening to the raido and there like how parents are mad that school was canceled but some ae relizing that its better then having then go to school then having to bring then back home at lunch cuz the storm got to serious.

  14. Um I just want to say that the last time schools closed like this was 1999. (I'm pretty sure) yeah and I think it was pretty icy so it would've been hard to drive to school. I can understand why some parents would've been angry but a good decision was made by the TDSB to keep the students safe.

  16. same Pamela i woke up at 6:30am to watch the news and they did a great job ,because as soon as they got the news that the TDSB schools were closed, they automatically went to that and told us i was jumping for joy and happy but yet they told us about how much snow their was and, told us not to go because of the heavy falls of the snow.

  20. I dont agree with some parents because if there child went to school and the storm came there child was n it bad things would happen

  21. I went outside and made a fort and tunnel/hill and jumped off my porch railing and landed on that hill and then i was chilling with my italian friend and he did the same thing then we ended up having a snowball fight

  22. why are people in the news and articles making such a big deal about school closure think of it this why now you can finally spend time with their kids or do things that they have been waiting to do maybe for once another option would be RELAX!!! infact they (grownups) should
happy that they dont have to go to work and handle their stressful jobs

  23. i agree with heli that its a good thing that we didnt have school today cause if we did i can just about imagine it was gonna be like probably a handfull of accidents, long lines on the highways so people could get to work or where ever theyre going, people being fired becaus ethey were late for work due to storm and busy roads, students sick because they werent dressed properly or due to staying to long outside etc. conclusion: it would have been a horrible day!
