I think david would be thinking around in the park wandering and stuff. and yes he is safe because people first of all people would be pity for him and do you stuff for him. he will be safe because he can take care of himself.
maybe he ran away to become his own person not living with his parents because he is sick of the pity he gets from everyone else maybe he just needs some time alone to think.
I think that Daivd is at wendys if hes not at the gorge because he said that wendys is his favourite resturant and its near the gorge. I think hes safe because hes in a fast food place and their going to feel pity towards him because hes in a wheelchair, and they wouldn't try to hurt him or anything
if he did there is nowhere for him to run because they never mentioned any relatives and i think that him hanging out with sean might have eased the stress he felt about being made fun of also the only place he can go other than home,seans house and school unless like i said he has a secret hiding place
i would say he is somewhere safe because he can take care of himslef and he loves to show that so no one has pity for him but i dont think he ran away!!!

i think that he was near the gorge in the beginning of the day but then left because he decided that it was a waste of time thinking of stuff like if he should go down the gorge or not. then he went to a place where he could be alone and people can't take pity on him because he doesn't like that. and even though he is alone he is stil safe because he decided that it was better that way.
I think he is at the gorge because i think that the light he saw was comming from davids chair,but if he is not at the gorge then i think he must have wheeled himself home to his family to explain why he was not at school and why he came home so late. I also think that if sean had told david parents david would have been in alot of trouble but he would be safe and i think that is all his parents would care about.
