Adopt a Village - 2

Lets get our plan rolling:

Use this post to keep track and get people focused on our goals.

Stephanie has the money envelop and anybody that wants to help in collection and recording talk with her.

We have raised $4 thus far - Tarundeep took the initiative and is the first to donate, who will be next...

  1. We have 29 students so if each student brought in 4$ we would have 116$ all together Since like how Mr Cheney told us that there would be a lot of expenses in the near future especially for the G8's I think 4 $ is a reasonable donation how ever if you want to bring more by all means but I think our plan should be the minimum for each student to bring in should be is 4$.

  2. @ EL Presidente

Yes that is a great idea. Yes, since we do have to pay for a lot of field trips(etc.) then it would be satisfactory because it is a low price. I think we should also do something to raise money, or get other classes into this also. We need the most bricks we can get so we can help the people in need.

  3. Pamela i agree we should get more class's involved to help the people out their in need .And more the bricks more people would have some of their needs-ex.water

    * Stephanie i wanna help with collection*

  4. Yes I think that what Zak said about each person bringing in $4 is a good idea because it's reasonable especially because the gr. 8s have a lot of expenses coming up.

  5. @Janet, me and stephanie are doing the money, you may help us if you wish too.

@Pamela, i agree there are many trips coming up and people might not have enough money for both, or people may have enough money for both, or one but lets see what this plan leads us too.

@Zak, i agree, we should keep in limits because if we have to participate in everything we have to make it low because we have a lot of future expenses to come a way ahead of us grade 8.

  6. It is really ture that we do have trips coming up and like Mr.Cheney said that your parents are going to be furstrated if you are going to aks for money every time.

So i just want to make this clear that Janat, Stephanie and Talwinder are going to be taking care of the money right. But who is going to be the leader i know who ever wants to join the team can but i want to know who wants to be in the leadership team.

  7. yes i think that we should keep in limits but i don't think that what we decided is bad because we decided to give &5 each from every student and i think that people can afford that or they can even give &4 it doesn't matter but i think that eveyone should atleast donate something.

  8. @Hitakshee, like the announcement people say, even a penny count for every donation, at least donating something to this cause and adopting a village is very worthy and a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yes Talwinder that is what i am trying to say that you don't have to donate &5 if you don't want to but this also doesn't mean that you don't even donate a single penny if not 5 dollars then they can atleast donate 2-3 dollars and just like you said that every penny counts so why not donating 2-3 dollars count.

  10. So anyone do we have a plan or like a the "master" leader to lead us to our master plan like we did for the food can drive and be on track and schedule/on time

    ReplyDelete
  11. Talwinder i think that Zak wants to be the "master" .leader and if their is a leading team or a group then i think that i would like to join.

  12. @Talwindwer I got the envolpe for the money Mr.Cheney gave it to me.So far we got traundeep with $4.We need to start bringing our money!!.I saw the brick by brick poster and Ms.Merraro class has 3 bricks. So lets start so we can reach our goal.

  13. @Janat sure the more people the better.So its me(Steph),Talwinder and you(janat).

I agree because there going to be alot of trips and etc. coming up so we should think about how much we should donate becuase our class is going to need alot more money during the rest of the school year.I say 0-5$ is a good enough donation because with all the other stuff happening like grad for the grade 8's it seems like a reasonable amount.

  14. @Hitakshee doing the money or volunteering to do the money is taking leadership but over all we do need a leader so we can have a goal to accomplish it.If anyone brings in money on monday they can give it to Talwinder,Janat or me(Steph) so we mark it down and be sure that there are no mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Stephanie
so if we bring in the money then that means that we give it to you, Talwinder or Janat right. Or do we have to give it to Mr.Cheney?

    ReplyDelete
  16. so what is the coast of one brick? And if everyone brings in about 4-5 dollars then how many bricks will we be abale to get or donate?

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Hitakshee as long as you bring in money it does not matter as long as me Talwinder,Janat or Mr.cheney gets it.Then we can recorde the amount and then your reaching our goal.

    ReplyDelete
  18. How about we just make $4 minimum? Just to make it easier, people can donate more if they want to.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @ sharpshooter1948

Yes thats a good idea. $4 can be the minimum and if people can contribute more if they desire.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ i thought the minimum amount for everyone was $5 but if you guys want to keep it or make it $4 then i don't mind but it doesn't mean that you only have to give $4 you certainly can donate more if you want to.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well with all the things that need to be payed for i say minium $1 to as much as you want to donate but just be sure because there are going to be alot of things that need to be payed for.

P.S-Our trip forms are due tommorow.

  22. El Zak has a very good game plan , and if everyone in our class participates then we could raise a lot of money for the me to we brick by brick campaign. $4 dollars is also a very reasonable price , so i think many people can participate because it is an amount many people can bring in because it isn't a lot of money. I think we should use el zak's idea because i think it could raise a lot of money.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have a feeling that raising money for the me to we campaign is going to be a success just like the food drive was.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 4 dollars is well reasonable, if we have full participation, we will have a big amount. I will see if I could remember, I dont want to go through what I did with the Terry Fox money, and i share that no one else would either, lets see if we can bring in the money fast so we can get this out of hand, and focus on other things, like our movie.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Pamela .. I agree , if our class plan goes well in bringing in money , then we should try to help the school bring in money , maybe a minimum for each class ? But that's just an afterthought , it's probably not going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Ben-G , I agree .. We should try to finish collecting money as soon as we can so we could start making the movie because we have to perfect the movie since we had so much time to work on it.

  28. @Stephanie , I agree .. the amount we bring in should be at least $5 dollars or less , if anyone wishes to bring in more money that would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Talwinder , I agree .. there should be a leader who handles everything and makes sure everything is on track. But so everything doesn't get to cluttered for the leader , I think that we should spread the jobs around the class so it would be easier to get the job done.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think $4 is a reasonable price for every one especially the grade 8 with all the upcoming event you can attend, and you don't want to keep asking your parents for enlarged amount of money each week .. just be mindful of that. You may bring more money if you are committed but just look out for that.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Niida, yes teamwork is a very good demonstration for this class to achieve this goal, everyone should help each other out and it would defiantly make things easier for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Stephanie, so its me you and Janat with the money handling?

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Stephanie
i handed my money in to Mr.Cheney so i think can get my money from him(&5).

Yes i agree that we definetly have to have teamwork to reach our goal.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Talwinder,yes its me you and janat helping with the money.

@Hitakshee ok just as long as we know so that i mark it down.Great job we already have $9 so far and if this keeps up we will have alot of bricks.

  36. Yes if this continues and keep this up we will reach our goal in no time and up we will have alot of bricks but for that like Talwinder said we need to have teamwork to reach our goal.

By the way how much does each brick cost and did anyone else bring in their money because we need to start collecting and donating money as quickly as possible but for this like i said before we need or we have to demonstrate teamwork and we need everyone to participate and help donate the cause.
