Its interesting to find out that Dophamine is the same chemical that Drugs stimulate the brain to release, whilst Music has the exact same effect. Its unsettling to know that you can feel the way drugs stimulate your brains, and that music does the same thing
i think that this article is very interesting but very weired because i have never heard of a scientist study that has to do with looking into ur brain to see when listening to music what happens.
Maybe music can be used as a motivator for educational purposes, leading to a feeling of accomplishment after gaining knoweledge in school...Just an idea, but it might be used in the future,if it ever has to be used.
i would beilive that it is true because when i'm listening to music, i always get a mood-swing during a certain song and it would have an effect on what am i going to do, what i'm going to say and my re-actions
I experenice emotion when I listen to music when I listen to a fast song I feel pumped up and ready to go. But when I listen to calm music I really do not experenice much peace. Some types of music something happens but other types I do not.
@Abdullahi Maybe the music you're listening to,is music that sounds pleasing to you but you can't really relate it to your life. When you find the meaning of the song and how it corresponds with your life, you can feel a certain emotion.I mean, that's just my ''theory''.
I think this article is talking about certain people who do feel "chills" when they listen to music and then they tested those people for dophamine. But i don't understand the point of the experiment. To tell people that when some people listen to music they get the same affect on their bodies as if they used drugs?? I don't know. I know I don't feel chills when I listen to music so the article is just an article.
i listen to music alot and it does not seem to effect me.i think its cuz people listen to there music very loud through there mp3 and ipods so that may have and effect ion it.when i listen i will humm it alot and i dont think these things the artical was talking about effects me
i listen to music all the time everydayy... but to let the song effect you in a way , yu gotta relate to it... but us being young it wouldnt effect us because we havnt expierienced enough to let music effect us...
When i listen to music i sometimes experience this feeling. I only experience the sensation when the song has a low beat, and is very loud. It depends what kind of genre you like. If you like heavy metal, you could get the chills, if you like hip-hop, then you can exerience the sensation.
sometimes if the song is really catchy and gets stuck in your head.but maybe people who listen to music louder have more of an effect then people who listen to music quiter.i think its cuz people write music because they have a felling so i think it comes naturally because everyone likes and dislikes things but ,maybe curtain triger then.
From the fallaciousness of music is that it creates a false reality. It makes you happy when you have nothing to feel happy about, and it makes you sad when you have nothing to feel sad about. Only reality should be able to control that.
no i didn't experince the sensation that the article refeers to, when listening to music and i listen to music alot

ReplyDeletei agree with stephanie maybe it happens if u listen to your ipod/mp4 with to much volume.
ReplyDeleteFor me this only happens when there is a strong regulating beat or music that pumps you up like rockys training montage.
ReplyDeleteits not about LOUD...the feeling comes from the music not from the volume...how many have had the experience talked about in the article?
ReplyDeleteim one
