    Ok so my idea is that at the beginning of the scene we show the Canadian flag that's outside the school to show that they've made it to Canada. Then it goes on from there to show them being greeted and brought to a house where they can stay. I don't have much though.

    good idea alyssa we could have a person escorte the slaves into canada and then they see the canadian flaghidh up in the air and then the slave could have this breath of releif and could say something like "finally we made, it were here"

    @arvinder we are not depicting the slaves road to freedom we are depicting how their freedom is. Group 5 Is doing the road to freedom.

    I like your idea heli we could have a scene were the slaves are learning to be free and we can overlapp this scene with a song and a monolouge of a Dr. King speech.

    I would like to join this group.
    We could also run the lincoln memorial speech as the last segments of the movie. Then we could fade to black and let the speech continue.

    @cripple great idea what u was thinkin is that near the end we could have a song i had in mind and then at the end we could have the speech. And to all who want to join the more the merrier. @ Hitakshee what i mean is the are free yes but they are not used to it so the have to learn whats its like.

    I was thinking that maybe we could have a voice over of a slaves thoughts. They could be saying something like " I never thought it would happen. It was a dream I never thought could be reality. To be free but now I am and it's amazing" And during that we would see scenes of former slaves going to school and having fun.

    Oh and does anyone have pictures for the beginning of the scene? And lets do a final count of whos in our group because there is alot of people.

    @Talha is the Lincoln Memorial speech the one where he said he'd give the slaves their freedom but then, as we know, it didn't really happen for a long time? And where will we get the speech? It's a good idea but I just have a few questions.

    @zak oh ok that makes sense. And has anyone found pictures to go before and after the scene? I have found some good pictures for the road to freedom scene but none for our scene. I will keep looking but if anyone has a picture they think is suitable, post it.

    Is it the picture of the stuatue of the slaves pointing in diferent directions if so i really like it. We could also have a pic where a slave is relaxing in a rocking chair on a porch maybe.

    Yes that is the picture. It would also be easy to re-create it on our own. Also, where are we going to film the scene? And what is the basic storyline/idea for the scene? There is lots of ideas but there doesn't seem to be a lot of structure to them. We're just posting ideas but I think we should start making a rough outline of what will happen and how we're going to make it happen.

    Do you think we should try to connect what we are doing in this scene to what is happening in the road to freedom scene? I'm just wondering because if we do/need to it would make the film look better I think.

    @ alyssa i think we should connect with the railroad because that the reason they got freedom.

    i was just wondering do you think we could add a bit of Harriet Tubman life after she free-ed the slaves,showing that she was also free and had her own life after that too.(or maybe just pictures)
    and maybe in the end we can show all the people who help to free slaves or the ones we know

    Do we need to link some of our scene or dialogue to someone important? (example John Brown) or are other scenes doing that? Also, we should start a rough outline for our scene because we have many good ideas but we need to start coming up with an actual scene.

    I think we should use that picture and this how the scene is starting to roughly shape out in my head we have the picture and our own adaptation of the picture with a running dialouge like you said alyssa then we have our content after that we have to decide what that is going to be and then I think we could end our scene with a picture of MLK Jr with the music tommorrow by salif keita on low volume running whilst king says his memorial speech then it fades into the credits what do you guys think?

    That sounds like a good idea. but what should the content be? A slave getting a job or going to school? And how long should the scene be? Oh and the scene has to be good because it's the last scene and it ends off the movie.

    Yeah it has to be good what we could do is have a slave not being used to the feeling of freedom and waking up as soon as he hears the chickens coo but then the other slave who gets free along side him reminds him that he is free and we can have him going to school learning to read and then maybe fast forward a couple of years where he is fully accostmed to life as a free man. where he is a member of the underground railroad.

    i think we should have a slave tring to get a job realize that it's really hard and we can show a slave/their family getting use to a free live.and i think to make the last part good we need to have a flow.

    @ El Presidente, Alright, so whats going to happen for the scenes? We could also show the slave's new families that they had when they were in the free land, and perhaps we could have a wedding scene, where one of the slaves get married, and then we could have another scene, where, as we could also have them join the underground railroad as Zak said, and we could display their faimily's happiness and sadness that their loved one is going away, and then we could end there with a little blurt of happy music as they depart, then we could switch over to the speech.

    Ok so there is three people officially working on the script. Other people can help and some people could make that scene by scene thing (I forgot what it is called). Should we figure out who will be acting or does that come later?

    i think that will come later cause the actors kind of have to match with the characters right.
    also first we need put together the script from all the parts to make scenes so that our movie can have a nice flow to it.

    Sounds like a good plan. But when will the filming start. I know we have to do the script and everything but the assembly is sometime in late February so I think we should really start working on the movie and script and scenes.

    Also when we are brainstorming ideas I think everyone should contribute because we have a large group but only 3 or 4 are coming up with any ideas. If the group is that large everyone should be giving at least one idea.
