When the ''block'' starts...Meaning the ''ride on the boat'' part,I'm thinking we could start with a close in of the slave in agony,and when the scene ends and the boat arrives on the coast of North America,it could be the amistad illustraition.
The picture for the close in of slave in agony could be an illustration by a student.So the picture introduction and transition is done unless there's someone else that disagrees... So now the summary...
After being captured,the scene transitions to the opening credits or whatever,and then it goes into the boat scene.The slave wakes up in a boat,and is thinking in his head.A few sentences in his head,and then he breaks free of one of the handcuffs,he frees all the slaves,the boat reaches the coast and then the slaves fight the owners.It will be the slaves positioning about to attack,then the scene ends to avoid violence.
For the script,I think it should be put along with the 10-30 small blocks that show each camera angle/close in...Like the script on 2/3 of the page's width,and beside it each drawing.
After that,BLOCK 2 should be finished,and we can start revising.
in the boat scene we can have someone look like he's starving and asks him for more and the captain of the ship tells the crew to kill the slave and then after the crew kills him they'll throw him overboard
That could fit in to the scene nicely.It could show how the slaves are feeling on the ship and how they don't even know what's happening to them,kind of like in we all fall down,
when the boat lands in the dock, the soldiers would come and find that the slaves have taken over the ship,the soldiers could capture them and bring them to the auction
Okay,so it would first start with the boat sailing.We could show just a piece of art of slaves sitting in a boat,which could be a cardboard background with some water splashing/ocean sound effects.So showing that it is a boat,is done unless someone has any other suggestions.
I'd like to work in this block for the movie,and I'd like to nominate myself as leader of the flexible group?

but what will happen in the script maybe there can be a cruel captain or one of the crew starts beating up the slaves
