  2. What this quote means is that when you extend your hand in comradery you tear down the wall of bad feeling toward the other person making them no longer an enemy to you but an ally.

    Yes I agree with this quote because as you extend your friendship to your enemy his animosity towards you will be forgotten over time. An example of this is when Lincoln himself extended his hand in friendship and rallied the democrats. Abraham lincoln is the 16 president.

Actor John Wilkes Booth shot him in the back of the head before jumping onto the stage and escaping to Maryland. Lincoln died on April 15th.....

  6. to me this quote means that if you make friends with your enemy, they are your ally now instead of your enemy. for example, if you are trying to lead people but you have done something that makes them not like you, you have to do something to counteract that so you will be friends thereby making your once enemies your allies.

  7. this quote means just because you have an enemy doesn't mean you can't become friends with them.I have enemies but im friends with them i don't remind them of what they did i just go on with my life.{my agreement is in the answer}Abraham Lincon was the president of the U.S.A he was the one that made the speach that starts with "Four scores and seven years ago"{i think} i think this quote is talking to all of us because we all have enemies we hate, and then you want to be friends after but you cant find it in your heart to become friends,so it is related to the public because we all have enemies we all will hate but we will become friends with.We can apply this to BHJMS because we get into alot of fights and we tend to get enemies so we can just call it truse and forget about the past.

    i do agree i have friends that i first met were really bad incouding myself, i want as smart today then i was in around G 4-5ish i would usualy not do homework and do it in class i was really bad in math, but then in grade 5 i was caught cheating on a math test, i remember walking to the car to go tell my mom to go talk to my teacher i would wait in the car. from that day on i said to myself that i would try to do better, and now i am one of the best students in math get my homework done and alone side im helping with stuff in school

  11. In my opinion i think that this quote means , if someone doesnt like you , you should probably make friends of them so someething can be changed. If someone has hatred over you, its best to be friends with them. I agree with this because this usually happens in peoples daily life.

    Maybe he is talking to the people of America, because not everyone will like him. So maybe he does good deeds to the people in America for them to like him.

  16. when lincoln is saying that quote he was reffuring to when the american civil war was coming to an end. six days after the surrender of the army of north virginia

    i think thats what he was reffering to because they cant be enemies when one surrenders and when one surrenders the fighting is over the the only thing left to do is become friends,

When you become a partner with someone that might be your opponent or adversary,it's better to become friends than enemies because 2 can get so many things done more than one can.Teamwork is the best way to solve any issues because the motivation can be used for positive tasks.For example,when there's two sports team of the same sport,but they have different ideas on tactics and styles,they can merge and become one excellent team because there's so many ideas that can be given to achieve success.

    I don't agree with this quote.In my opinion,it takes will power and motivation to achieve success in anything.Becoming friends with your enemy changes the way you may think,but these people can still be the same.For example,when Germany had became allies with Russia,the two countries seemed to be trustworthy to eachother until Hitler defied the rules and invaded Russia,but it ended up being that Hitler lost..This was a lesson,meaning that you can't trust people that have done wrong to you before.

This could apply to kids at beaumonde because instead of getting into fights with other people they could apply this quote to their situation and become friends with the person they dislike and they could have fun playing with other people instead of being in a fight.

  19. what i really think this quote means is that, fight, aganst someone you dislike isn't worth it because what do you get out of it?........NOTHING!
    and you should become even closer friends with your enemies that your regular friends....
    because you have the the power to change them in way they no need to harm you. and wise em' up.

    THIS CAN APPLTY TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS GETTING INTO FIGHT HERE AT BEAUMONDE HIEGHTS,

  25. yes i agree with this quote because when you make friends of your enemies, you will accomplish more. for example, if you are fighting with your enemy because you dont agree with something, will that accomplish much? no, it probably wouldn't. but if you become friends/allies with your enemies, you will have more people supporting your cause leading to a closer victory for you and your cause. like prayas said "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"

  33. 1)I think that this quote means that to keep on trying to befriend whoever you can regardless of who that person is. This includes People that you would rather dislike and if so, hate. Even if that hate is in your heart, remove it. But negative attitude towards certain people is also human nature. So directly, I think that this quote means that everytime you see someone that you have a negative attitude towards, you should atleast try to lessen the tensions between you and said person. It is what many people strive to do, Having no enemies, and having all friends, if that is possible. I certanly must agree with it because this is true, peace treaties between countries at war, in history, has made them closer then ever and brought friendship and prosperity into their Countries

    2)Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He Abolished slavery in the Northern United States, and he was against racism. The Civil war occured in his Presidency and it was fought by the Northern United States and the Southern United States. After the war, He made this statement,
    "that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain--that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom--and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.".
    I think that this means that all the people that passed in the war, died for a great cause, abolishing slavery in The United States, and that he stated that the government is there when people need it for assistance, it is fully up to the thoughts of the people to dictate who gets to stay in the office of presidency.
