2. As well our Black History project will centre around Harriet Tubman and the underground railway. We shall follow the life of a slave through their capture, transportation, auction, slavery, and finally freedom.

ReplyDeletemr cheney the food drive is not going so bad 4 -6 people didnt bring in the money everyone else brought it in about 20 people brougth the money out 0f 25 about 80 percent of theclass our second goal is reached of 75 percent of the class.

ReplyDeleteHeli that is a good idea we could have a slave escape after being sold at a auction because he or she deos not like their owner and wants freedom and then after escaping the owner could find him or her and beat them because they tried top escape.

ReplyDeleteIts not just disliking the owner, its hate. The slaves are put to endless work and they are treated like garbage. They are made to do things they dont want to, and they are forced. They have to take put-downs and negative comments about themselves, and they cannot do anything about it, Until.... Harriet Tubman comes along, and starts saving them from the owner. My point of view is biased, because I am relating my comment from a movie I saw in 7th grade with the class, and the "owner" treated the "slaves" like they were animals, no they treated their own cats better then they treated the slaves, it would be harsh to describe. Im just saying, they went through a lot, so its more then disliking their "owner".

ReplyDeletewe could have a scene where there is a family of slaves hiding in a barn for a day so they dont get caught. then at night they could be running near a swamp and it could be raining to show how unforgiving the journey was.

Sorry about basketball...but family concerns have to come first yesterday and today.
Im not sure how many food items we have right now beacuse im at home but when we add in the other items that were going to buy were going to surely be in the lead.Im aiming to bring in my 20 cans in on mon or tues I already brought my cash.

Motivation
ReplyDeleteStay true to our goals and causes. We have the potential to do something worthy and important. We want our motivation to be for the people that need our food items. The mother of 4 who lives in a bachelor apartment struggling to provide everyday. We want to help them. Do not cloud your judgment and motivation by simplistic competition.
Yes 8B new a long time ago
and certainly 7A, 7B, 8A know as well.
but if motivation comes simply from wanting to beat somebody then it is not sustainable over the long term. Because this type of motivation comes from an external source and true genuine motivation comes from the heart and soul.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion it doesn't really matter about winning the prize. Yeah i would love to reach our goal of a high number of items, and i would love to win a prize, but that's not the main point. Even if the other classes know our 'code talk' doesn't mean that we cant beat 'em still. So i don't think that any one should panic cause our class is working really hard.

im going to bring in my 20 items on monday so we can have 161 items.im still working on the money but ill bring it in before tuesday.gurinder said we have $155 which can buy alot of baby dipers.

i still need to donate cash but i will bring it in.
were in @nd place ms merraor class is in the lead followed by us but if more people bring in can food items(20) we can catch up or even pass then.
i dont really think its important that they noe our secret it was going to get out anyways. like they all have french in our class soooo they probally new.
last..... Eric Walters replyed to my letter!! he said that he trys to read all his letters but is not the kind of person how blogs
sorry what as said is now we have $215 for our food drive but we have to get them bought and counted so we can add it to our total.
