here is a link of the George Bush pitch at Yankee Stadium. Take a look and related clips just to enhance your perspective and see the vibe and passion of the United States following the September 11 attacks.
This event is symbolic and very telling of the resolve of America at the time.
post a comment:
It was special for him because all of America was hoping on him to do something, and that he did. He started a war on terrorism, and thats what the people wanted, at the time. The Pitch was special because he was showing America that he knew what was going on and he was going to get them through, and not just for publicity, and thus, the resolution of this "terrorism" was to fight back, if someone attacked your home, would you not resist, to negate any further attacks?
ReplyDeleteThe pitch and the baseball game represents the bravery by the Americans, and the world. When the terror attack had taken place, its meaning was to make America and its allies scared, and unable to do things. If they aren't able to do anything, that would lead to jobs thinning and people drifting apart.American fans and the former President George W. Bush playing the game represented that they were still able to be brave. They weren't afraid of terrorists. This message would be sent to the terrorist group Al Qaeda, leading them to being intimidated.
ReplyDeleteits was a special occation for the americans to see their very own presedent go out and strike the pitch of game @ the yankees' stadium, for all the glory bush had gotten, his fans gave more.
ReplyDeletethey were bursting with energy.
and he was feeling very special, that day.
yes it was really symbolic because 9 11 was one of the most sadest moment in american history and bush truogh a strike in one of americas most popular game. and with that pitch bush made america feel like they were going to take out the people who did this to us.
ReplyDeleteit was as cheney said a very special moment since it was right after 9/11 especially since he pitched from the mount at full distance.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this game would help all the people who were affected by 9/11 (family, friends, businesses, charities, even workers like doctors, firefighters and policemen and policewomen)help get through the pain. The pain and misery.Working and finding bodies, all the way to recovering from the loss.
ReplyDeleteCheck his speech out at Ground Zero

Wacthing this clip makes you feel an overwhemling feeling of nationalism from whatever country your from it shows just how determined america was to let freedom be, at that moment george bush was the ideal leader at that moment america was united under one banner.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion I think that they were mostly cheering for him because he started the war againt terroism. Since the terroism happened, they were waiting for something to happen, and it did. So I think thats why they were cheering, and maybe a little bit cause he threw a good ball =D
ReplyDeleteyo check this.
ReplyDeleteread what's on bushes jacket when he is shaking hands with some of the yankee. can any of you figure out what the full word is. the first three letters are F-O-N...... check ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K9-G-o6snw&feature=related out!
I found the video very diffrent it isn't very normal for the president of the united states to go to the yankees game and throw the very first pitch of the game because they have been attacked and now they are paranoid of being attacked of terriost again .. so it is very risk-ful for the president to go pitch the first game ..
ReplyDeletethat was special for bush because he knew that the people that were attacked in the 9/11 well the 3 towers was very hard for the people to get over the fact that his country and his people have been put in danger and they are all shocked and sad and lost because one of their loved ones or their friend has been killed in this attack so he is stepping out for the country and showing them that they have the courage to stand strong and and it worked then bush made them as strong as they could be to prove that they are not alone but they have a strong leader that will lead then to victory or freedom!
ReplyDeletewhat do you think of this give me your opinion on it.( summary: obama was a basket ball player, bush was varsity chhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNLfX6e2F5A&feature=relatedeer squad leader.)
ReplyDeletein my opinion i think that the pitch gave the states a sign of hope, and that once he started the war ,they thought everything would be okaii.
ReplyDeletecheck this out its the video of Bush lying about 9/11
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm73wOuPL60
that very pitch that bush did showed that he wasn't afraid of anybody tried to threaten his country and that he will not let any harm to his people and his country
ReplyDeletei agree with this clip. it is very symbolic. george bush pitched from the mound the very first game after the incident had happened to the twin towers. it must have been very important to george bush to trow the first pitch
ReplyDeletecheak out this site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6CmUC1svmc to see george bush trow at another game from the mound
I agree sam it did give them hope that Bush would help them get through this
ReplyDelete@ Talwinder
ReplyDeleteI Agree, but he has security with him, obviously, and so then he is safe to some extent, and I highly doubt that Terrorists will return so soon when all of America is on red alert towards terrorism. In contrast, the attacks may also make it easier to see that America is vulnerable, as it was on Sept. 11, so that may cause some uneasiness.
do you think bush did the right thing telling ppl he was a cowboy, but was really a cheerleader
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umU1c-imkMw&feature=related
I agree with talwinder, it was very risk-ful for Bush to go and throw the first pitch so close after the attack, but it did give the americans hope
ReplyDeleteI agree with talha that pitching the ball for george bush was a big deal for him because the country that hes president of just got terrorised and it would be a big deal to tell them that he wont back down and he started the war.
ReplyDeletethis clip shows how much america agreed with what bush wanted to do. watch this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7OCgMPX2mE&feature=related
ReplyDeleteto see what i mean. it really does show that everyone wanted for bush to do what he did and also how much damage the attack caused.
i think that it was very special for George Bush because the time he made the pitch at the yankees stadium he felt that all of the Americans were with him and he was showing the Americans that he knew what happened and he was going to do something about it, he was not going to do that just for the peoples of the America but he was doing that for AMERICA because someone came and attacked there home there soil and they are not going to resist they are going to fight back. so i think that the time he pitched was a very special moment for George Bush.
ReplyDeleteSuper angle of 2nd plane crash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPvi8sOGN5U
ReplyDeletethis is crazy watch it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjycSe4w0xs
ReplyDeletebut he is from texas ZAK there will be times when he will call himself a cowboy and a cheerleader because he will say things that could define him living on a farm and at the same time he also cheers for his own country sooo!!yupperz!!
ReplyDeletehttp://allenrrogerstrucking.com/images/fdny-flag-helmet.gif
ReplyDeletethis is a picture of the new york fire department, you can see that on the back of gorge bushs jacket it says FNDY which stands for the new york fire department its on his jacket symbolicly showing some his thanks for all the sevice men and woman that helped put an end to this terror by putting out the flames and tring to uncover the people bombarded under the ruble
Super angle of 2nd crash
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPvi8sOGN5U
@Talha, yes your right i agree with what your saying
ReplyDeleteIt was a significant moment because George Bush was taking a risk of pitching in Yankee Stadium just after the 9/11 incident but he did it to prove a point a so that they could get over all the reactions such as they are frighten that it would happen again some where else in the U.S,over the sadness of the people who were killed and the anger.
ReplyDeletei think that this clip is very special to bush and usa , like mr.cheney said the yankees were like a relief to the people who lost their famliy and firends. they gave them somthing else to think about.this clip bush shows that we have hope now and we are on the right path.
ReplyDeletei agree with talwinder it isn't very normal for the president to go to the yankees game and throw the first pitch it's risky but it's that is what gave hope to usa
@vanessa i never said he was a cowboy or cheerleader if you go back to the quote youll see it wasnt me.
ReplyDeletesuch guts that bush would actualy take chance and throw the first pitch in the yankee,s game pitch it would take alot of guts just to do that from such a distance
ReplyDeletei agree with talwinder it was very risky for them to have the president come and pitch the first pitch because america was paranoid about another terrorist attack. and like mr. cheney said that was the first attack against americans on american soil so it was very risky to have the president come and throw the first pitch.
ReplyDeleteppl look up this website:
ReplyDeletehttp://pilotsfor911truth.org/
to all those people that says it was worth it for him to goto the stadium like that after the attack.Do you think it was really worth it why? since there was a huge risk of something happening.
ReplyDelete@ venessa how does that make him a cheerleader or cowboy still?
ReplyDelete@k.o.c i did its a great site to get info for what we talk about
ReplyDelete@sharpshooter it was worth it because it showed bushes leadership to his people getting a strike showed that bush was dead set on getting back the enemy
ReplyDelete@sharpshooter Bush was confident, along with everyone affected by 9/11.The message needed to be sent to the terrorists before anything more could be done to make it worse.
ReplyDeletei agree with what sam said. the pitch did give america hope that when bush started the war everything would be okay.
ReplyDelete@ zak but still couldnt he had done something diffrent cause there could have been a chance that something went wrong when bush was there at the stadium.
ReplyDelete@ sharpshooter
ReplyDeleteHe wished to show that he cared and that he comprehended what was going on. He went to show support, as would any proper President, he would sacrifice his life to that unsecurity for his country, if he was a good president (im not saying he isnt one).
He wished to, as Ultimate Dragovian and Ben-G both stated, Honour the people that strived to eliminate all chances of future destruction, and to save those who were within the building, and out of it.
@sharpshooter What else could he of had done? Thousands of lives had been taken by 9/11.Bush needed to show how important it was to overcome the sorrow and rebuild.
ReplyDelete@Pharoah I concur.
ReplyDelete@sharpshooter that chance was worth it nothing ventured nothing gained had he not gone to the game he wouldnt feel validated to go after the terrorists the part he gained was a united feeling over america Mr bush was their commander in chief and it shown through because he went to that game.
ReplyDelete@ gurinder yes i understand he needed to send the message but if you watch master chiefs video it seems that he knew before hand about the attack and that he planed for this to happen. he did give america hope for this since 911.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletethe message i sent to gurinder that goes to el presidente and talha
ReplyDelete@ Sharpshooter
ReplyDeleteThen he lied about 9/11, that it was a plot from him all along, to start a war on terrorism, and then therefore, to enter Afghanistan?
@sharpshooter Many of the videos about 9/11 and Bush and all these conspiracies don't sound reasonable. It could be convoluted,it could be a charade,a facade, but it could be nothing.Videos on the internet regarding the government can't be trusted as much as television. On television, everything has to follow rules and regulations.
ReplyDelete@ pharoah then that would seem the case cause i remember that on the news the war was over oil so he could have used it as an excuse to fight to obtain it.
ReplyDelete@ Sharpshooter
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know because I did a speech on war last year, if you remember.
that is true but when bush symbolicly went to the stadium cheney stated the risk of it but he was brave to do it but it all seems like an excuse to start a war for oil it seems like it was some conveluted plan.
ReplyDeletewow great insight.
ReplyDeleteJoshua thanks for finding so many different links and thanks to those that have added a new element to the posts- adding links.
conspiracy theories about 9 / 11 are plentiful. And certainly there is little regulation of what is said via the internet.
I would be shocked if George Bush actually new about this event before it happened. Thus I don't place much faith on conspiracies.
I think bush knew it was coming cause he would have corrected himself when he said it cause if u make a mistake u always correct it bu he didnt cause he didnt make a mistake cause he knew about it
