The movie was very insightful to what D-day was about, because I have also read passages in soldier's journals published in books, and there was nothing that really suprised me, because over a 1000 Canadians lost their lives in D-day, and that showed something about that. The part where they just got overrun by machine guns was very realistic to what annahilation is in actual war.
The clip is terrifying. The perspective of being a soldier and being completely annihilated on the battlefield.Being slaughtered, obliterated and taken down by a machine gun is horrendous. The soldiers didn't know they would die by a machine gun, some were shot and were swept away into the waters.Others were shot down on the beach and bled to death as they writhed in pain. And others knew they were hopeless.
This movie is really touching. Some people think that war isnt that tough, but watching this movie makes you realize that you dont have a high percentage of living. You have to watch you back every second. After watching this movie you think twice about war. Its sad to see people getting killed instantly without knowing whats happening.
Wacthing this clip was very humbling to see youth that in a couple of years we would be their age lose limbs before they understood what was happening is very humbling to think that they gave up their life so we could live in peace and freedom, lest we forget.
@Pamela I don't think touching would be the best word to use,in my opinion.Touching would be used for a more subtle and romantic movie.I'd say its realistic and humbling.
The movie was very realistic and it really shows how young people lost their lives fighting in the war and the way they were being killed.. The movie looked as through it was filmed while the war was continuing. The movie was indeed very terrifying and it made people realize why we should honor these young people for what they did for us was incredible they gave up their own lives not thinking of them selve but thinking of us so that we could live the way we do now, so that we could be Free.
the clip was descriptive. all those people at war fighting and dying. what were their families thinking back home? it makes you realize how war actually was like.
I think the movie( Saving Private Ryan ) is the best movie on D day because how they were acting was so real on how the soldiers respond to a lost colleuge/ when in war/ and how powerful real soldiers determination is. This movie can really get to you when you think of the soilders in war protecting us. When they ever lose a team member it's really sad because you know that it happens in the real world. This movie also tell a great meaning. The soldiers fear, determination, dispite, the hard work they do to get their country to safety.
In my opioion the movie was very .. Overwhelming .. It is very relistic .. it makes me humble when i watch it .. people i dont know fought for our rights.
wow , i feelt really sad for the soliders who died, some just got killed so quick and even under water . i also noticed that the soliders in the boats/tanks barely got to shoot and even the water was red , i dont like war its kills so much people , its way to sad to watch but the soliders are so brave they were fighting and i have trouble just watching this
I think that the clip was realistic and overwhelming. Realistic because the clip was very real, it looked like we were actually there and that we were actually experencing what they were. It was overwhelming because we saw the people die, and risk their lives for people that they don't even know.
The posts done on this page are reflective and compassionate. It seems that you have made some important self discoveries about war. Don't undervalue their sacrifice to you and thus cherish everyday of freedom but also take the next steps to building a better society.

ReplyDeleteThe movie was very discriptive with all the blood and organs and what happened during D-Day and how much people gave there lives for our future.

ReplyDeleteyes we really should give respect to the men that fought in the war. they lost their lives in gruesome scences like this for other people's freedom.
